Lovely Room and amenities, have never experienced worse service

The location, room and room amenities were excellent but our impression of the service was the worst I have ever experienced from the moment we arrived. We checked in late afternoon on Tuesday 17th. On arrival we proceeded to reception where 2 staff were sitting chatting and there were no other guests around. When we advised we were checking in, the male referred us to a self serve kiosk where we had to check in ourselves, we must have interrupted them in the middle of a much more important conversation which they continued while we were checking ourselves in. Just as we finished checking in ourselves via the kiosk, another couple arrived who were given a more personalised check in. We then managed to find the lifts ourselves (after initially walking in the wrong direction) and located our room. Later we ordered some extra coffee sachets and milk via the app (we were very familiar with the app as we used it at the Novotel Paddington in London) and after waiting over an hour we received a reply to come to the bar downstairs where we could collect it ourselves. I went to the bar downstairs and neither of the gentleman there had any idea what I was talking about. He checked with the fellow at Reception who came over, went to a room and got some coffee sachets while the gentleman at the bar managed to get some milk and a couple of tea bags for us. I asked the Receptionist politely if this is standard practice (as the bar staff had no idea) and he said in a stern tone “ I was the one who replied to your message, we do not do room service!”. I queried if this was considered room service to which he just replied “we don’t do room service”. It appears plain “service” is something this Hotel doesn’t offer. Needless to say we decided not to eat or drink or spend any more time at the Hotel than we needed to, but did enjoy the room. Anyway, just as a comparison, when we ordered some replacement coffee via the app in the London Paddington Novotel it was brought to our room in less than 5 minutes and the staff there were incredibly helpful and polite. That was our second stay at that Hotel and we will be back next year. Our next stay at the INK Hotel in Amsterdam (also Accor) was perfect and like the Novotel London, the staff couldn’t have been more courteous or helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out.

Great location, secure parking, modern/newly renovated and priced very well. Bar/Restaurant reasonably priced and good selection. City center is right there and staff were lovely. Only little thing would be that the Aircon was a little intermittent.

A group of us came to this hotel 2 years ago and were made very welcome. Forward to 2024 and the same group plus 2 more returned to a transformed hotel. The outside might look the same but inside, wow, it’s fantastic. The reception is very open, but works really well. The rest of the reception floor acts as breakfast, longe and meeting area. New bar is great with reception staff stepping in when barman has finished for the night. The bedrooms have been totally redecorated very stylishly, although some drawer space would’ve been nice. The staff were very friendly. Although we were a large group the two guys on reception got everyone checked in efficiently but with good humour (more hotels need staff with a sense of humour) The buffet breakfast was well catered for with hot and cold choices (the only issue with breakfast was the toaster was extremely slow no matter what setting it was on) Again it was nice to be greeted by amiable staff at breakfast time. Will definitely use this hotel again for its location, comfort and the wonderful staff. Thank you for a great stay

Looks as if had just opened, looks fresh after a thorough refurb. Friendly and efficient staff. Nice to have a pool esp in summer. Breakfast has a good variety and quality. Very Belgium to have a waffle maker.

Terrible hotel

There was 4 main things about this hotel which was horrible. 1. In the room mosquitos were flying around and buzzing in our faces and ears during the night and day. 2. The beds felt rock hard and personally it was hard to sleep on. 3. In the bar the Bartenders broke a glass and the broken pieces flew and hit our friends eye but luckily wearing glasses and the person who’s fault it was didn’t apologise at all and didn’t offer any support. They were also eating chips and going on cigarette breaks during their work leaving the bar unattended sometimes and on top of that didn’t do a good job cleaning the glass up as someone in our group cut their hand. 4. Finally our last morning i was awakened with a very loud drill above our room or beside not sure where but it was very loud and this went on for at least an hour making it impossible to fall asleep again. The only good thing about this hotel is the location and the car park price.
