ibis Bordeaux Centre Mériadeck 3 yıldız

A very tired Ibis, well overdue a refresh - worn out carpets, thin towels, very dark rooms. Operating well below brand expectations. However, staff very pleasant, if a bit overworked. Well priced compared to other hotels in the centre of Bordeaux.

Had a couple of nights stay, staff very friendly and very helpful, first room allocated the smell was dreadful, smelled like cats, moved straight away no problem, second room lovely no shower gel, and sink would not empty, reception had the problems resolved straight away. sunday morning stayed for breakfast, a dreadful experience, just to many people trying to get what was left no orange juice, very few coffee pods left, no real meat selection or cheese. It looked like they where very short of staff to refil, maybe they should stop people going in when its so busy if they cannot service the numbers. Enjoyed the stay and yes would stay again.

Very good central location, meaning most of the key sites of the city are within easy walking distance. Rooms are very basic, but clean, a good choice at breakfast. Staff pleasant enough, although the hotels restaurant was full, so suggest reserving when making a hotel booking, if you don't want to go out. A well stocked convenience store is located across the road from the hotel, useful for drinking water etc.

This ibis is quite like a French ibis in that they are often a bit more run down than those in other European countries. This applied to our rooms, which showed a bit of noticeable inconsistent DIY/bricolage in terms of their maintenance. However, the location was very handy for the city centre and public transport. The staff were generally ok, with the barman being particularly pleasant and helpful. The parking was a bit hair-raising to get in and out of but at least there were spaces available when we needed them.

I tried to like this place, but it let itself down in lots of areas. Good: Mostly friendly and helpful staff. Attempt at contemporary design. Fairly centrally located. Bad: Hotel carpark full and hard to drive around park public one nearby. Fire alarm at midnight - false alarm. Coffee undrinkable at breakfast, and unhelpful staff member who couldn’t find cold milk for coffee - didn’t seem to care what I wanted. Rest of food at breakfast not very tasty or appealing - old congealed scrambled egg. Poor tasting bacon. Crowded breakfast room. Noisy bar. It’s attempt at style looses lots of comfort. Room clean but shabby - peeling paint. No sockets for phones next to bed. Noisy hardly working air conditioning unit, in room for some reason on the floor. Noisy street noise if you open a window. Lifts often too busy to get, and so found I often had to walk down stairs. Cheapish, but not good value. There must be better options. Avoiding Ibis hotels now. There is a budget option next door, and I hate to think what you get there.
