Great hotel for business or proximity to York city centre

For the money (I paid approx £70 per night) you can’t fault this hotel. Decent car park (£18.50 per night), Rituals toiletries in the rooms, clean and spacious. Great location for the centre of York and I’ll continue to choose this for my business hotel!

I visited my son, In York at the weekend. I stayed at this hotel. I can honestly say I was very happy with the service, cleanliness and friendly atmosphere. From the moment we got to reception we had a very warm welcome and later on enjoyed an excellent meal. Our room was very nice and clean. In the morning very happy with the breakfast choice. The lady I think her name was Dagi, was so helpful and friendly. I would definitely book again. Thankyou Novotel York.

This is a ‘go to’ hotel when working in York. The hotel is within walking distance of the City Centre and has parking onsite site. Rooms are clean and tidy and as a solo female traveller I feel safe in this hotel. Breakfast is served buffet style with a range of choices for customers / guests. Check in was busy and I felt more staff could have been helping customers when they arrived at the hotel. Would happily recommend a stay at the Novotel. Very competitive prices for York

Great location - located about 10 minute walk from the city centre (Fossgate). Picked the hotel for the “spa” facility… slightly disappointing as this is only a pool and sauna that can only be booked for 30 minute slots. Thought this would have offered more (ie spa treatments and jacuzzi). Upgraded the room to executive and decided to surprise the wife with added rose petals. The room was spacious, modern and clean, overlooking the river. Only downside was the lacked a mirror inside the bedroom for getting ready. A plus note was the bed was comfy. Breakfast was an additional £15, which was reasonable given the great selection on offer. Parking was £17 per night - again reasonable compared to other city centre carparks. Would highly recommend and look forward to staying here again in the future.

I attended the hotel with a delegation of senior representatives from a middle eastern country for training purposes. All the hotel staff, especially Sarah and Federica from the hotel's event management team could not have been more helpful over the 5 days of our stay. The service was exemplary, particularly as the training was delivered at the hotel during the run up to Xmas. The work behind the scenes to make the delegates as comfortable as possible is truly appreciated & did much to ensure a successful training delivery
