Good value hotel near Gare de Lyon

Very pleasant hotel near to the Gare du Lyon, the room was comfortable and surprisingly quiet given there was a concert in the Arena next door. We chose a room overlooking the park so avoided any road noise. The breakfast was good and plentiful and the staff attentive. The graffiti were interesting and not intrusive.

Not a good hotel. Pretty rundown, rooms are small and spare, virtually no lobby, or at least nowhere to sit and it's just a bare minimum place. It does suit the purpose if you're flying early however.

Avoid at all costs Arrived check in seemed fine - girl was helpful Went to room and no towels etc in bathroom - temp in August close to 30 degrees so shower was needed. Called reception and hotel has no spare towels till morning ? Long stand off with reception and eventually young desk girl finds a towel from somewhere ? Shower rinser on wall hanging off - room very very basic and poor - will see how the next few days go as here for 4 days . Already looking to see if another room close by available as this is evident it’s poor ….

The room was so tiny and so small The room is only having a one big bed with no other facilities .. i didn’t have the space to do anything because there was no space .. only a bed and a bathroom I wasn’t comfortable And when i just arrived they told me that the AC is broken in the whole hotel and there is no fan in the rooms So i had to sign a consent on myself to open the window of the room The breakfast was good somehow and also there is coffee machines in the breakfast which is good I am not recommending it to anyone

We have been using then hotel for many years - it is convenient for where we need to go in Paris. We asked for a room on the top floor, nice and quiet, and were allocated one. However as soon as we opened the door the unhealthy smell of drains was evident. We had had this problem 8 months ago and assumed it will have been long solved. It was not. We were offered a nearby room - same problem. A third room we were told had been renovated but there was an even stronger smell. We finally took a room on the 5th floor. That had no air-conditioning, so after 1 night we moved to a room on the other side of the hotel that did have air conditioning - we were told only half the hotel had it. Now we woke up in the middle of the night to discover that someone had come in to the room and removed the key that was controlling the lights (without waking us). The duty manager apologised, but never gave us an explanation. There are clearly maintenance issues at the hotel. We would consider it again for its convenience for us, and its excellent breakfasts but we would be very picky about the room.
