Disappointed IBIS Hotel

I stayed for the second time in an Ibis Hotel that needs major refurbishment. It is dated back to the 80s. The rooms are so dreary. It is really disappointing. The customer service is non existent. The breakfast is boring. I think I will need to find a different étape hotel. It says that it is a 3 star hotel. They should be reclassified. The room for €112 a night was really basic. I wanted to have a comfortable double room with a big bed which I got but I did not want to have bank beds also in the room. No coffee or tea maker. No UBS plug in the room. The bathroom has dispensers but no soap in them. When I checked in, the receptionist never asked me for any identification, just my name. The hotel has no lift and my room was on the second floor. What about if a disabled person book the same room?? Staffs were not putting themselves to ask if I needed anything like where to eat for dinner . Breakfast, no ambiance, poor selection. All in all not a pleasant stay.

The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful. I only have two criticisms a) when I arrived for breakfast at 9.50am there was virtually no food!Eventually some bread came out of the kitchen, however the hotel seemed quite unprepared. b) I emailed the manager in advance to request a discount as I had booked a double room, but ultimately my wife did not stay, however I received no response to my request.

Clean and efficient

The stay was just what you expect from Ibis - a clean room, good television, basic but varied breakfast selection. A good receptionist - we felt that he cared, and he told us of the 10% discount from the Buffalo Grill steakhouse next door when we arrived at 21.00..

Clean and functional

There's absolutely nothing glamorous about an Ibis but if you need a clean and comfortable room for a couple of nights, this is as good a choice as any. Plus it was extremely quiet. The room was an ok size and scrupulously clean. Bed was comfortable and you're able to fully open the window (although you're not supposed to). The shower has a decent pressure but likely to spray over the floor as the glass door doesn't go far enough along. We were only given two towels but when asked, reception provided additional ones. Breakfast was small but decent selection of bread (baguette and a grain loaf), croissants, pain au chocolats, fruit, yoghurts, ham/chicken slices and cheese. Apple and orange juice, tea, coffee and water all available. WiFi was slow but got there in the end. Reception staff, particularly the late night ones, were friendly and welcoming. No more than a 10 minute drive fr the centre of Rambouillet. Same distance to the Bel Air shopping centre which has a variety of shops including Carrefour and McDonald's.

As expected IBIS quality

We stayed there one night great price / quality as expected at an IBIS. The mattresses and the bathroom are sufficient and it is quiet. No noise heard in the corridor. The hotel is located about 15 minutes from the motorway in a quiet industrial area.
