Recommended hotel somewhat near Schiphol airport

I've stayed in several hotels near Schiphol airport and one of the things that's important for me is the ease of getting to the airport. So when this hotel comes with a complimentary shuttle bus, I decided to give it a go. The shuttle bus takes about 10 to 15 mins to get from the airport to the hotel and about 15 to 20 mins from the hotel to the airport. The bus can get pretty full, especially from the airport. There is nothing around the hotel except for a McDonald's, which is a 10 to 15 min walk from the hotel. The hotel itself has 3 places to eat but the bar's menu seemed limited and the American snack bar only opens at 4pm. The hotel buffet is great for dinner and but breakfast is decent and lunch is a no go. The rooms are comfortable though small. They're ideal for 2 skinny people and 1 not so skinny person. There's supposedly a gym but we didn't have time to visit it. There's also a 247 counter at the first level where you can buy sandwiches at a few euros more than AH. The hotel service is pretty good. Staff are relatively friendly. We only met a rude one briefly but other than him, most staff are competent in English. We will stay here again but we may also want to try Ibis Styles and Ibis Budget.

Overall perfect! close to airport, 397 bus to city center. Just that they need to improve breakfast. I've visiting at this hotel for last 3 October. First year, breakfast was excellent. But last two year, it has been disappointing, no varieties, no sweets (earlier it was Donuts and some other) :/

It had been some years since I had visited the hotel, but unfortunately this hotel has gone down hill. Long queues at reception and not enough staff. No dedicated desk for Platinum loyalty members. Although I had already checked-in at home, it took me twenty minutes to get my keycard. When I went down to the bar for my welcome drink and sat at the bar, I was ignored by the only member of staff at the bar for another fifteen minutes while helped other guests coming in long after me. When I tried to validate my free welcome drink voucher and asked for a Leffe, only to be told that with a voucher I could only get a small Hertog Jan beer. Not a great way to show appreciation for Platinum loyalty members. To be fair, I did get a welcome package (a bottle of water and a chocolate bar). And the bed in the room was comfortable, but with this kind of indifference of staff members, I am inclined to switch my loyalty to other hotel chains.

Disappointed!!! The room is dingy, smelly, noisy and cramped! I’ll let the pictures do the talking. This is our FIRST worst hotel in the 5 months that we’ve been traveling around Europe. It needs major renovation specially the bathroom and the walls needed a fresh coat of paint at least. No amount of deep cleaning would revolve the other issues. It’s full of stains, mold, cobwebs and whatnot. The carpet is another matter. Everything is just cringed and dirty. Good thing we booked this for 3 nights only- can’t wait to get out of here already . We do not recommend staying here. 2 star for 1:40 pm check in, some friendly hotel staff and cleaners, laundromat and free shuttle- the rest is just a plain NO.
