We spent one night in this hotel and we left with mixed feelings... Good things first: Excellent breakfast with large variety of mostly healthy food, prompt and friendly service. Helpful concierge who suggested a very nice brasserie for dinner nearby. Excellent location and quiet rooms (at least those facing the inner yard). But: We had to wait until 15:20 to check if our room would be ready, although the day before we got a message that the room would be available at 15:00 and possibly already at 14:00. Once we got access, we found that the room didn't correspond to the pictures published for the category "luxury". There were no bathrobes nor slippers available, and the window couldn't be closed properly with an outside temperature around 0 Celsius. When I asked the reception, I got a slightly larger room, but I was charged 15€ in excess of the price paid via booking.com. This room though had a large king-size bed instead of the twin beds we were asking for. We had to wait until dinner time for the beds to be made in twin mode. And generally, the rooms did not provide the feeling one expects from an upper class hotel: old stylish, partly worn out, poor amenities in the bathroom. Certainly not worth the price paid. Pity...

After 60 years this Sofitel lost its luster!

I had stayed at the Strasbourg Sofitel over 30 years ago. The place was amazing, the service impeccable. From check in to check out, flawless. This past stay, Strasbourg Sofitel grandeur of the earlier years is gone. We had to wait to be checked in, in-spite the fact that there were three people looking at one pc as My husband and I waited to be checked in. Finally, one of them did us the favor of checking us in and proceeded to walk us to the elevator where she gave us the key and ran back to the desk to continue her chat. There was not one mention of the Holiday amenities which we found out (written on a card), as were were checking out. The room was nothing compared to the one of the picture. There were three hangers and no bar soap. We were told to "use liquid soap". There was a Christmas market right outside the lobby and We had to fight the crowds to get into the lobby. The entrance from the bar for some reason was blocked. In spite that fact that The bartenders were GREAT!, this Sofitel, after 60 years has lost its luster. 4 nights $1500dlls NOT worth it. CM

Booked for three nights just to enjoy Christmas market which is very close to the hotel. Appearance of the lobby is very basic looks like 4 star hotel actually i was shocked when i arrived dreaming the picture on the Sofitel website is not there . We arrived noon time and naturally our room is not ready even i am diamond member waited till 3 pm., thanks Tarik booked for us a table in a italian resturant where we spent reasonable time while waiting for checkin. Room that we booked is room with balcony facing courtyard and this time there where ice skating rink placed . Except the bed which was very comfortable room was outdated even scratches on the bathroom door are very visible that make me to think nobody showed effort to renew it with a new door. Thanks to Guest relation manager for welcoming bottle of baby champagne (i guess because of my membership level.) Breakfast again was very basic in comparison with other Sofitel hotels.( please think to add more tropical fruit In fruit salad bowl) Overall Sofitel Strasburg is overrated and overvalued ,

This is not a 5 star hotel. Clean and comfortable and well located but lacking the 5 star extras. Room extremely small. The one exception was Charlotte in guest services who went above and beyond in helping my wife who took a bad fall in the street and had a mild concussion.

The best part of this hotelis the location, walkable to everything in Strasburg. The hotel was nice, a little worn, and the rooms were the same - nice but a bit beat up. Staff was very nice, but I would not come here for the hotel experience, it’s really all about a very good hotel in a great location.
