Just a perfect stay

1 night stay with family (2 kids). Great welcome very friendly, toys for the kids. Huge teddy bear (2.5m high) in the room. Perfect cleanliness. Great bedroom. Good access to the carpark (public). Direct access to a big mall. 5-10 min walk to the old town. Will come back for sure.
Novotel? Better say Oldotel

Everything is old inside room and not best maintenance. It's not a 4 stars sensation at all. Very dissapointed. Bath door damage, tiny fridge, no big bed. I waste my money to receive this hotel quality.
Nightly disturbances from a nightclub

Within the last three years I stayed in various Novotels in Europe. Until recently, I had no real issues and there were no complaints from my side. However, this time we encoutered some situations that were not acceptable. Independently from being Platinum customer with Le Club Accor, I expect some things not to happen: - Claiming to be a four star upper range hotel, there should be an information up front that the lobby area is currently a construction site. A clever management would also inform customers about a charity run in advance. None of both happened. - From a Novotel I would expect better rooms in general. They are clearly subject to a refurbishment, especially bathrooms providing a annoying smell from the sink. - Rooms that are affected by extremly loud music until 5 am in the morning can not be given to any customer. Corresponding complaints must be treated much more seriously. Of course, this is a central city hotel and some background noise from the street must be accepted. A nightclub next door is something different. Requesting a discount for heavily disturbed night was simply rejected. It is reponsibility of the hotel and blaming it on the town administration is a very cheap excuse. By the way, it would be wise for the reception staff to have some ear plugs available at least. - On the same matter: How can it be that the reception staff states that they are not aware of any noise problem from a night club while explaining a few sentences later, that they are in discussion with the town administration about it?!? This was a blunt lie! Of course, they are aware of the problem. - Giving a room upgrade for the last night and some loyalty points is of course some compensation. But, in the end this was inevitable to allow some peaceful sleep. What do I care if the new room has a Nespresso machine? From my point of view, problems can occur, that's a fact. However, many of them could be avoided by taking appropriate measures beforehand. And if they happen, customers must be treated like what they are: Paying customers! I can not recommend to stay at this hotel while his management is in place.
Good hotel with very unpleasant staff

The hotel is very well located, close to restaurants, trams, shopping and sightseeing. It is currently under renovation. Considering the kind of average hotel, the disturbance due to the renovation and some very rude staff, € 123 per night was a rip-off. Also, as Accor members, we were treated very badly. The only polite, courteous and friendly person in the hotel was Thomas at the reception. I have posted my review on Accor customer service and have asked for a reply.

Overall is average. Reception area is under renovation, significant messy and front desk staff doesn't provide welcome drinks to us. We open the room door, the sofa bed doesn't open, we need to re-set by ourselves because the room is limited place.
