A nice modern hotel well placed for the old town. Staff were helpful and attentive. It lacks anywhere to get a beverage and snack during the day. I arrived at about 9pm and ate in the bar area where I paid over the odds for a very small portion of reheated chilli con carne. In summary, a nice place to sleep with helpful staff, but limited other facilities

Pillows were a joke

A hotel should guarantee a good night sleep which was not the case thanks to the cheap pillows. Also when asked for room slippers the comment was it was executive guest only. Could had been better handled.

Decent hotel in a useful location

This hotel is a bit of a walk from the station, if you're dragging suitcases you'd be better taking the tram (no 4) as the roads/pavements are mostly cobbled. The location is great, near the main shopping street, close to most of the attractions and the room we were in had a great view of the city. The room was a bit cramped as it was the three-beded one, the single bed being a sofa bed. Daughter said it was quite comfortable though. The room size was adequate for a four night stay. Staff were very helpful when, on arrival, we realised that my partner had 'forgotten' to inform the hotel there were three of us, not two. We didn't book breakfast as we didn't get a deal which included it, and it's expensive to add on. There are plenty of places to get breakfast nearby. We did get our free drinks though (Accor membership deal I think), sitting outside on a balcony overlooking a main road and some interesting architecture. Despite the main road, we weren't bothered by traffic noise. We'd definitely stay here again if/when we return to Freiburg, which is a lovely city and to be recommended. Get yourself a beer or wine (if you indulge) and sit with your feet in one of the Bächle (at least in summer), Bächle are small water-filled runnels designed to help prevent fires in the Medieval times.

Good return stay

Check-in was easy by the friendly front desk staff. The hotels has two swift lifts. Our room was a good size and had a tea kettle plus an assortment of teas. No mini fridge, unfortunately. The bed was comfortable and each nightstand had a power outlet--perfect for two people to charge devices at bedside. Sadly, mobile phone signal was quite weak from inside the rooms. The bathroom had a large shower with a built in shelf, which was ideal for storing shampoo, shavers, etc. The shower water pressure was ok but water leaked onto the floor from the rainfall shower head. The towels were thin. I like how their mirrors have steam-repellent sections. The wall-mounted magnifying mirror was a very nice addition--all hotels should do this! There's a parking garage below the hotel, with a lift directly to reception. I've stayed here multiple times over the past several decades and will surely stay again.

Well located and clean hotel

Great location near the city center and its attractions. Parking is available for a fee at the adjacent garage. The room was clean and comfortable with nice views of the hills. It would have been even better if the windows opened. Would definitely stay here again.
