Elanor from the reception greeted us this morning at 7 am and was absolutely charming and even allowed us to park our car in front of the hotel . She must not have realised that the French tend to sit and eat much longer than others and it did not occur to us to tell her. Mea culpa. 2 hours later when we returned to our car we found a note from the police telling us that we were not allowed to park in front of the hotel more than 10 minutes. I spoke to Michael, I believe he was the concierge and apologised for the trouble we may have caused. Michael could not have been more gracious and explained the parking dilemma to us. Thumbs up to Elanor, Michael and Vadim from the restaurant for your professionalism and genuinely caring about our experience at your hotel.

This my 16th time at the Sofitel. This time it was a 9 night stay. The room was lovely on 16th floor with views of the ocean. Breakfast on L3 each morning was good, the service was on point. The changeover of the room was done mostly mid afternoon which I asked could they please aim for lunch time which they did. The small details here are so thoughtful, water and chocolates each day. As it was my birthday we got a lovely small cake, bottle of wine, a cheese platter complimentary. The corridors are so cold I think the air conditioning is too cold. The pool area is very clean, fresh towels and a water station. Plus the Oasis centre is downstairs for ample shops, get some groceries if needed, cafes and lots of restaurants.

Stay away from this 2 Star stinky Hotel - nothing like a Sofitel

Sofitel in name only but in reality a 20 year old run down hotel with stinking underlay and all rooms that are rundown. If you think you are going to a Sofitel think again - this is a very poorly maintained hotel with leaking shower, running toilet, cracked grout with black mould and more resembling faulty towers on steroids. To think that Accor actually allow this sub standard hotel to be marketed as a Sofitel just defies logic and appears to be more profit than luxury We had multiple people stay here and not one of the team were positive on anything g other than the staff. Staff members were honest and stated that the humidity gets into the 30 year old underlay and every room stinks - add the rattling pipes in the walls and the place can best be called a JOKE

Recent 2 nights at this hotel. For a luxury hotel it was pretty average. The room was in need of an upgrade with a dated bathroom. Most annoying was the early morning evacuation where staff seemingly had no idea what to do. Guests all waiting in the foyer to get back to their rooms after this false alarm. Check in was clumsy with errors made. Staff in the restaurant also made mistakes. Waiting for our coffee at breakfast then a double order turns up. Wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The evacuation procedure you described is certainly not reflective of our usual efficiency, and I regret the confusion and frustration it caused. From the moment we entered the foyer of the Sofitel, Gold Coast, which we chose to spend a special occasion in our lives, we knew that it couldn’t be the Hotel it propounded to be. The poor taste of furniture reaching a climax of female Receptionist lacking in the famous Gallic welcome and facially glum warned us of what was to come. Our Room 2110 cost us a lot per day and we stayed 5 days at the Sofitel, Gold Coast. Here, once again, for the price we paid, the furniture was, what we call ‘laminated’, simply didn’t fit in with the famous French decor and what we expected from a Room for such a hefty price. The saving grace was the comfortable bed. Under the circumstances, we had to contend ourselves for ‘small mercies’! At the astronomical price we paid for 5 days, breakfast was not included. The TV was on when we walked into our room of sorts. On it were the words of welcome by Mat Andraws, the General Manager who ended his message with the words, ‘C’est magnifique’. The use of a few words in French did not compensate for the penury of the room. Altogether, the Sofitel Gold Coast, is not worth the money for what the high standards proclaims to offer. We say this because we have stayed at Sofitels elsewhere, Manila, for example.
