Mercure Nice Promenade des Anglais Hotel bintang 4

WE looked at a number of hotels online and chose this one despite any concerns. we had 3 rooms, all the more $$ range of 400 or so per night. we had a gorgeous corner room overlooking the promenade and ocean. hubby had recent surgery so opted for the handicapped bath which was huge and fabulous. the breakfast was excellent and the location unbeatable. Elizabeth's bar right around the corner was our daily stop after dinner for a nightcap. she was wonderful. I would for sure stay here again.

Every single person we interacted with demonstrated the highest level of hospitality. The service was just outstanding. The interior rooms don’t have the best view, nor natural light, but since we don’t spend much time in our room when traveling it was moot. We loved the location.

Mercure promenade de anglais late afternoon on Friday 2/6/23 On arrival we were greeted by the receptionist who said that we needed a debit/credit card as security for any services we hadn't used. I told him that we would'nt be requiring any other services and had paid for the hotel in full. He said he needed €300 for things I hadn't requested or purchased,I told him that it would affect my spending money in the resort,so he said if I don't take a card he would be in trouble,so he says €150 I reluctantly agreed. The next guest checked in and he asked the same(card required) she said I have no card ( obviously she knew what she doing) and he proceeded to check her in with no card), discrimitary don't you think? Monday morning awakened by drilling and hammering from building next door went down and told receptionist about the noise,she said they were putting a new door in the building next door and would be finished by evening. I said if it continues I will request a room change,no answer from receptionist. Tuesday awakened again by hammering told receptionist (different one) nothing they can do. Wednesday drilling and hammering again.nothing done again,no offer of room change. After this we weren't greeted going to and from hotel by any receptionist as if we weren't there. The rooms were tired and grubby and in need off redecoration with dirty balcony. No sun terrace,bar or lounge area, surely these are basic requirements from a hotel on the Cote de azure. I will not be staying at Mercure hotels ever again. The receptionists we were on laptops every time we went in and out,so rude and ignorant. This was supposed to be a special birthday holiday, especially after COVID You would have thought they would be more attentive to make sure customers returned,I certainly won't. The only decent people were the room cleaners polite and helpful. I will be letting people know how bad this hotel is for future guests Remove this hotel from your booking list, terrible hotel, terrible service

The staff at the hotel was fantastic. My room was comfortable and cool. The room was well cleaned each day. I was on business and this place was quite a value. The location is perfect. My day started early each day and the staff gave me extra Nespresso pods to I could have several cups of coffee before work. Nothing opened early enough for coffee. I would absolutely go back.

The location of this hotel is fantastic, directly at the Promenade des Anglais. Our room had sea view so that was fantastic. Furthermore the room was clean, the shower was good, but the room itself would require an upgrade / renovation. You could not sleep with the window open as there is too much traffic outside, even during the whole night. But the room had airconditioning, so it was not too warm inside. The price per night was pretty high, but we expected something like this when staying on a top location in the centre of Nice.
