The Bath Festival: Everything You Need to Know

The beautiful city of Bath boasts a rich heritage and plenty to see and do, whenever you visit. But if you’re lucky enough to be heading to bath during one of its several festivals, you’re in for a real treat.

The charity organisation Bath Festivals bring exciting events to the city throughout the year. From Bath Children’s Literature Festival in autumn to The Bath Festival in summer, the city hosts many unmissable events. This year, plan your visit around The Bath Festival for a weekend you won’t forget in a hurry.

What is The Bath Festival?

An annual celebration of music and literature from around the world, The Bath Festival is a raging success year after year, with more than 120 events taking place over ten days.

This year, the festival returns! From the 15th until the 24th of May 2020, the city of Bath promises to come alive with memorable music and events for young and old.

What to look out for

With so much going on over the festival period, you might feel spoilt for choice. While all of The Bath Festival’s offering is worth a look, there are some annual evens which you simply cannot miss.
Party in the City runs from the opening night of the festival to the last. Attendees can enjoy the city at its liveliest, with folk, rock, jazz, classical, acoustic, swing and soul music performed across three outdoor stages and some of Bath’s historic venues. Whether you catch a street performance or head into a beautiful church or museum, this free celebration guarantees to thrill.
The Bath Festival Finale Weekend is similarly unmissable. The two-day live music event is staged at Bath Recreation Ground, in the heart of the city. Every year, the family-friendly Finale Weekend lends its stages to big names in music, local talent, and street theatre. There’s also a Kids’ Zone, so little festival-goers can enjoy themselves just as much as the adults.

Tickets

Tickets for The Bath Festival are available online. Simply choose the events that you’d like to attend and purchase your tickets individually. Many of the festival’s attractions, like Party in the City, are free to attend.
