The 6 prettiest photo hotspots in Amsterdam

Perfect for Instagram - Get your camera out!

The most beautiful places in Amsterdam. You’ve probably seen them, the beautiful pictures spread throughout social media, like Instagram, that bring up the traveler in you. But where are those beautiful unknown places? We take you on a tour along the most beautiful (unknown) places of Amsterdam:

The Pijp

This vibrant Amsterdam district has never been so hip! If you are looking for culinary wonders or trendy lunch spots to photograph, then you should be in The Pijp. The district known by André Hazes is located in southern Amsterdam and is full of hidden gems. Walk through the Frans Halsstraat and admire the open canvas of the Wall Gallery, where the best quotes are immortalized on the white wall. Or visit Europe's largest daily market and stroll through the stalls of the Albert Cuyp market. Here you can buy literally everything from caramel waffles and fresh fish to ceramics and homemade jewels.

Hortus Botanicus

In the busy city center of Amsterdam, it is also possible to relax and enjoy nature. In the Hortus Botanicus you can appreciate the most beautiful flowers and plants, which simultaneously serve as the perfect setting for all your photos. Would you like to have a meeting in a unique place? Then rent one of the rooms and discuss the matters in a stimulating place. Of course, this green, peaceful environment is perfect for a creative brainstorming session. Take the rest home and buy your favorite plant in the botanical garden shop.

The Hallen

In Oud-West, a lively and cultural neighborhood just outside the center of Amsterdam, the former tram depot was transformed into a real food walhalla. The Hallen are now home to various food stalls. You can enjoy tasty treats from almost all cultures here. From Italian pizzas and pastas to vegetarian burgers and wraps. You name it, nothing is too crazy for the Amsterdam food halls! In addition to the delicious food, the Hallen have much more to offer. End your culinary evening with a movie in the movie halls or buy a souvenir in the beautiful designer shops of the Halls.

INK Hotel

This beautiful bohemian hotel is the perfect place for your overnight stay in Amsterdam. The Ink Hotel transformed the old head office of the Dutch newspaper 'De Tijd' into one of the hottest hotels in Amsterdam. They traverse history throughout the hotel and as soon as you walk in, you will be surrounded by huge block letters and print accessories. The old style can be found in every detail, from the name of the restaurant, Pressroom, to the chalk drawings on the walls. Go back in time and exchange your digital newspaper for a former paper one.

NDSM-Werf

Where once the biggest shipyard in the world was, is now the perfect Instagram location. Get your camera out and discover the raw, industrial side of Amsterdam. The NDSM Shipyard is home to 80 different creative talents that make the old building a real work of art. Not only are the walls all decorated, but also the building is full of creative shops containing beautiful handmade products. Besides the yard, you can now also go for a snack and drink. The IJ-land is full of restaurants, bars and cafes that offer a breathtaking view of the IJ-lake. Take the free ferry and in no time you are on the best hidden treasure in Amsterdam.

The Zevenlandenhuizen

For a unique facade as a background you have to be in the Vondelpark area! That is where the Zevenlandenhuizen of the Dutch architect Tjeerd Kuipers are located. The seven houses are lined up in a row and each have a unique architectural style perfect for any picture. Together they showcase the history of the architecture. Each house is built according to a different architectural theme. For example, 'Spain' is the cute pink house inspired by the architectural style in Granada or 'Russia' with its onion-shaped dome. Take a picture with each cottage and show your friends that you have been all over Europe!
