Feel the Buzz at the Electronic Amsterdam Dance Festival

Big Acts, Big Fun at the Amsterdam Dance Event

Find out everything you need to know about the ADE

Often referred to as the gateway event to the global electronic music scene, the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is a haven for dance music lovers. Every October, the ADE opens its doors for a wild five-day festival, where more than 450 events will be hosted throughout this amazing city.
A Mecca for electronic music fans, the annual ADE attracts an eclectic mix of revellers to Amsterdam to watch shows performed by more than 2,200 artists. The lively event will be held in 115 music venues and with over 350,000 people taking part in the revelries, the playlists are as varied as the partygoers.
From acid, house and techno to electro, trance and drum ‘n’ bass – the pumping beat-filled air at the Amsterdam Dance Event will excite all dance music fans.

A round-up of the ADE highlights

The Amsterdam Dance Event attracts partygoers from all over the globe and never fails to put on a memorable performance. Here a few quick facts about the annual dance event:

The playlist features all kinds of genres of music, ensuring there’s a little something for all party animals to enjoy
In 2017, the non-stop partying will take place from October 18-22
Around 350,000 clubbers are expected to descend on the city to see more than 2,000 artists perform

Performers range from well-established names to upcoming, rising stars of the future. You can expect to enjoy a pulsing beat wherever you go and the non-stop rhythm will get you in the mood to party, whatever your music taste. Just try and resist!
From sunrise to sunset and everything outside and in between, whether you want to party hard or just soak up the atmosphere, there are so many reasons why the ADE is one of the world’s most popular electronic music festivals.

Attend the ADE Conference

The ADE is a rather unique event, as it offers far more than just a regular fun-filled music festival. While whooping it up is a major draw for many revellers, the dance event also plays host to the ADE Conference, which attracts a slightly different music-loving crowd.
Conference attendees do indeed share a passion with their fellow revellers for the electronic music scene. However, the ADE conference is a platform designed for serious discussions and critical dialogues about the industry, rather than simply partying.
Slightly unorthodox for a music festival, the ADE Conference pushes the barriers of a regular music event. It welcomes people to mingle and network, to learn about developments in the sector and to share their expertise.
And it functions much like any other conference but it has one major difference – it’s all about dance music!
Play at the ADE Playground

As well as the ADE Conference, the ADE Playground is another reason why this music event attracts such a diverse crowd.
The ADE Playground takes place during the daytime and is the perfect platform to burn off a horrid - yet potentially inevitable – hangover!
The daylight programme sees the city streets transform into a huge pop-up store, where a host of treats await hardcore partiers, including:
  • Film screenings
  • Studio jam sessions
  • Special workshops and exhibitions
  • Private DJ shows
  • Secret performances by artists
  • Workshops hosted by top record labels
This popular side event is a spot-on accompaniment to the main festival and unusually for a dance festival - you can expect to have just as much fun when the sun is up, as you can when it goes down!
The ADE schedule shows that this festival really goes out of its way to do things that are out-of-the-ordinary.
