Sydney's most marvellous markets

Taste Sydney's best food and shop til you drop in the city's vibrant markets.

From handmade jewellery to vintage treasures, gourmet desserts to fresh oysters, our guide to Sydney's most marvellous markets promise a day of shopping 'til you drop (with plenty of delicious options to fuel up on, too).

1. Brewery Yard Markets | 28 Broadway, Chippendale

Smack bang in the middle of the city you’ll find the relaxed vibes of the Brewery Yard Markets. Whether you prefer to take the train to Central station or enjoy a stroll, this Chippendale hot spot is less than 15 minutes from most parts of the CBD. This inner city market is an oasis for fashion, homewares and beauty connoisseurs. Purchase an original piece of jewellery, devour gourmet doughnuts and other homemade treats or, if you can’t decide - do both! A Sunday well spent if you ask us.
When: First and third Sunday of every month, 10am to 4pm

2. Sydney Fish Market | Bank Street & Pyrmont Bridge Road, Sydney

Seafood lovers will smile from ear to ear at the sight of the Sydney Fish Market. Let your foodie dreams run amok here as you enjoy energetic produce auctions, oyster bars, and fresh sashimi. For an unforgettable Sydney seafood market experience choose a piece of fresh fish and have it cooked up right in front of your eyes. Now that’s service!
When: 7 days a week, 7am to 4.30pm

3. Paddy's Markets | Market City, Hay Street & Thomas Street, Sydney

A holiday to Sydney is incomplete without spending an hour (or five) at Paddy's Market. Expect to get lost, splash some cash and hunt down a bargain. Conveniently located between Chinatown and Sydney Central, you’ll snag costumes, phone cases, leather goods, and all the Aussie themed trinkets and souvenirs you’ll ever need. No judgement if you need to buy some more carry-on luggage to cart around your purchases too.
When: Wednesday through Sunday, 10am to 6pm

4. Bondi Markets | Bondi Beach Public School, Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach

While Bondi is famous for the surf, sand and sun, a trip to the beach is not complete without a visit to the Sunday Bondi Markets. Shopaholics are guaranteed to enjoy a cruise through the local handicrafts on offer here. Take home handmade candles, ocean inspired prints, funky one-of-a-kind tote bags, or some organic skin care.  If you happen to find yourself pacing the promenade on a Saturday though, expect to fill your belly and bags with gourmet eats and fresh produce instead.
When: Sunday 10am to 4pm

5. Glebe Markets | Glebe Public School, Glebe Point Road, Glebe

Diversity, character and style are the epitome of the Glebe Markets. Paradise for vintage and hipster chic finds, one man’s trash is truly another man’s treasure in this inner-west sanctuary. Scavenge the grounds to uncover recycled fashion, CD’s, records, books and more. Once you’re all shopped out, soak up the sun and sounds as you enjoy live music on the lawn.
When: Saturday, 10am to 4pm

6. Carriageworks Farmers Market | 245 Wilson Street, Eveleigh

Creator and Aussie chef Mike McEnearney allows only the best of the best at the Carriageworks Farmers Market. Within this renovated hangar, you’ll unearth gourmet chocolate, olives, honey, chutneys, wines, truffles and so much more. Time to plan your next feast or picnic pronto!  Wake up nice and early to get your paws on organic and biodynamic foods from the farmers and producers of New South Wales.
When: Saturday, 8am to 1pm

7. Kirribilli Markets | Bradfield Park, Alfred Street South, Milsons Point

Dating back to 1976, the buzzing Kirribilli Markets are favoured by tourists and locals alike. With most of Sydney’s markets dotted in the inner east and west, Kirribilli is an excellent option for those in the north.  Skip out on public transport and take in the incredible views that a stroll across the Harbour Bridge provides. With 220 stalls boasting new and recycled fashion, homewares, jewellery, plants and more, you won’t be short on choices.
When: Second Sunday each month
