The luxurious Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills played host to an exclusive invitation-only music event in April. Bloggers, international tastemakers and music aficionados were immersed in a music, design and cultural experience like no other as the hotel was transformed into a virtual stage for one night only for the world-renowned party, La Nuit.
Making its debut in North America, Sofitel's signature party concept could not have been more perfectly timed. With clear French roots, the multi-sensory experience tapped into the spirit of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival combining music from leading artists with modern design and experimental mixology reflecting Sofitel’s brand pillars.
Music was the star, with guests given the chance to indulge in a night of tunes by a variety of DJs and artists including the band Phases, DJ and singer-songwriter Samantha Ronson, and DJ Ruen. Moving away from their indie-rock roots, Phases started the night off with a decidedly modern performance featuring tracks influenced by the ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s. The beats continued with celebrity favorite Samantha Ronson captivating the crowd. DJ Ruen who is usually seen playing with the world's top artists dropped by to ensure the party continued into the early hours. As bloggers Jeanne Grey from The Grey layers said it best, it was “...the classiest, jazziest, most luxurious and youngest of nights I’ve ever felt in a very long time.” We couldn’t agree more.
If music was the star, then the ambient decor was a close second. Party like a Parisian was the night’s motto, with the hotel’s signature spaces Estérel Restaurant and Riviera 31 converted into high energy nightlife venues complete with dazzling lights and stage setups. The hotel lobby was completely transformed as the interior space was draped in black and white geometrically elegant patterns paired with striking lighting design. Blogger Jeanne Grey observed after the event that “the decor was astounding, the crowd as haute couture as I’ve imagined partying in Paris would be. It was a dream!” Words we love to hear.
The La Nuit experience was enhanced with signature cocktails including Paris La Nuit, Champs Élysées and Bastille, paying tribute to Sofitel’s French identity. The Los Angeles event follows closely behind other La Nuit by Sofitel parties that have been held in cosmopolitan cities across Europe and the Middle East over the past year-and-a half, including Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial, Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge, Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom, Sofitel Luxembourg Le Grand Ducal, and Sofitel Dubai Downtown.
The experience for many guests was not just about La Nuit, but also a perfect introduction to Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. Ideally situated on the corner of La Cienega and Beverly Boulevard opposite the Beverly Shopping Center, the hotel is conveniently located near some of the best attractions Los Angeles has to offer. As blogger sensations Brock Williams and Chris Lin from Yummertime said, "Sofitel’s literally two blocks away from Melrose, and practically five blocks away from ‘that famous pink wall,’ which means: SHOPPING AND PHOTOS!” Did we mention the Hollywood Sign? You can see it from several rooms and suites within the hotel. Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, you have definitely outdone yourself!
