Had the best trip of my life. The bar staff were amazing, always fun and ensuring all our needs were met. The cocktails were sensational - couldn’t have asked for a better trip and staff. Kasun and pubudu are so fun and caring - at no moment did I not have a cocktail in hand.

Not bad

This was our thirtieth time in the Maldives and first at the Mercure. I must confess that I was never very attracted to this island but the very reasonable price for high season and the possibility of splitting with another island closer to Male in the last nights made us give it a chance. In general, it is not the most attractive or photogenic island as it does not have the extensive beaches of other islands nor does it allow walking all around the island, which is a habit we always try to follow in the Maldives. We stayed in a sunset water villa with a pool and they did the miracle of giving us the room I requested (519) which I really appreciated. Without a doubt the best room in terms of privacy from neighbors. The room, although not very large, is reasonable and has everything we could need... except an espresso coffee machine :-) Regarding privacy, I have already mentioned privacy for the neighbors, but the same cannot be said about privacy for the huge number of boats that pass right in front of the room... Without a doubt, the island where we stayed has the most boat traffic in front of the room. The food is not bad, with a buffet restaurant and an a la carte restaurant with a small menu, but as with us, on almost all islands, from the fourth or fifth day onwards we start to have some difficulties as we are not big fans of Asian food very spicy or foods with lots of sauces. We went All Inclusive and this gave us the opportunity to try many cocktails which, although we are not experts, didn't seem bad to us. I expected more from snorkeling. After reading so many reviews praising snorkeling I was a little disappointed because I didn't find large schools of fish and I found the snorkeling area a little limited (just in front of the water villas) which makes the experience a little repetitive. However, in terms of sharks, perhaps the island where we saw the most, saw more than 20 or 30 during 1 hour of snorkeling... of course some could be the same. By the way, highlight the excellent jet sky "adventure" with our excellent guide Shaffan who took us in the middle of the ocean where we were surrounded by hundreds of dolphins, which was an unforgettable experience. I can understand why there are so many excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. Reasonable food and snorkeling, lots of drinks, a bar and pool with a very relaxed atmosphere and the small detail of being adults only without the noise of children screaming and running everywhere. We weren't disappointed and we had a great time... we just missed something more.

The Maldives was absolutely fabulous and this resort was awesome! We had a sunset pool villa with the most amazing sunset views and direct access to the ocean off the villa deck. The food was amazing and the people are very warm and welcoming! There was a lot of wildlife in the ocean easily visible in the clear blue and green waters of the Indian Ocean. We saw stingrays, baby sharks, sea turtles and all kinds of fish!

We stayed at Mercure Maldives for a total of 9 nights. We felt inclined to leave a review given our wonderful experience at this resort. There were numerous things that made our stay memorable and wanted to highlight a few: First, staff was exceptionally personable and warm. Within a few days of our stay, many had memorized our room number and our individual preferences for menu items/drinks, etc. It made for a very personalized experience that is hard to replicate on many resorts. In particular, Chef Nalaka greeted us daily with warm and welcoming smile and always made excellent recommendations as to new items to try. Second, the excursions were all fantastic and a special experience (snorkeling, dolphin cruise, jet ski). Shaffan, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure our experience was very memorable. Not only did he help alleviate our nerves when we were anxious about entering the ocean but he also consistently enhanced our experience by capturing footage of us/marine life and editing it to share with us. We are so thankful for his effort given we now have such great photos and videos to share with family and friends of our vacation. Throughout our stay, we primarily ate at the buffet restaurant ‘Alita’ and it consistently exceeded our expectations. There was exceptional variety each day coupled with quality items. We particularly enjoyed sea food night with features such as fresh lobster. We usually aren’t buffet people but we left every meal satisfied and looking forward to the next themed night. It’s important to note that the resort never felt full which was a very welcomed change to our usual experiences. We were always able to get a seat at the pool, restaurant, etc. We made reservations for our water activities and spa appointments soon upon arrival but availability was ample. Lastly, staff was extremely helpful with airport arrival/departure. We were guided through the entire process which was a relief given the general chaos of the Male airport. We would highly recommend Mercure Maldives and hope to come back soon!

Dear F, Thank you for choosing to stay at Mercure Maldives and for sharing your wonderful experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the personalized service provided by our staff, the fantastic excursions, and the exceptional dining experience at 'Alita' restaurant. Your kind words about Chef Nalaka and Shaffan will be shared with them, as it is feedback like yours that motivates us to continue delivering exceptional service. We are glad you found the resort to be spacious and that our team assisted you smoothly with airport transfers. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back soon for another memorable stay. Warm regards, Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort
