Stockholm "The Venice of the North" and capital of Sweden is spread out over several islands. In the heart of Stockholm, in The Old City (Gamla Stan), you will find the The Royal Palace and its museum. At Djurgården you have lots of activities to choose between such as Junibacken (The home of Pippi Longstocking and other famous characters of the children's author Astrid Lindgren), Skansen (Stockholm Zoo with its traditional Nordic animals), Gröna Lund (Sweden's oldest amusement park), The Vasa Museum (the famous museum with its fully intact ship from the 17th century), The ABBA Museum. If you are interested in photography you should definitly pay a visit to Fotografiska. In the southern part of Stockholm you will find The Ericsson Globe, the world's biggest globe, primarily used for concerts, sport events and shows. And if you go 15 minutes north of Stockholm you find another huge arena, called Friends Arena, for great concerts and big sport events. Not far from the arena you also have Haga Parken and The Haga Castle, the home of the Swedish Crown Princess family. In November 2015, Mall of Scandinavia opened its doors and it is the largest shopping mall in the Nordics.
