We are long-time Princess customers, and especially have enjoyed the holiday festivities over the years. We live in the Phoenix area. This year, my wife and two kids opted for a staycation at the hotel for several days during the New Year week. We were given two rooms, 3054 and 3056, directly above the Plaza Bar. On New Year's Eve, the rooms were uninhabitable because of the noise from the party at the bar. The rooms' walls, literally, were vibrating because of the music volume until 2 a.m. Needless to say, my kids didn't get any sleep that night, nor did we. Oh, and crews began the noisy activity of tearing down the party venue at the bar immediately after the music stopped. They were clanging around and shouting until at least 4 a.m. The front desk had no rooms available to move us, and we considered leaving the hotel entirely that night. Two issues for your future consideration: 1) Knowing these rooms above the bar will be unihabitable, don't place guests there for New Years; 2) If you must rent these rooms, don't place families with younger kids in them. All this said, kudoes to Spencer at the front desk who agreed not to charge us for the rooms for the night in question. Also, Kudos to Angie C., from Royal Service, who helped me sort out billing issues on the two rooms after checkout. (American Express Platinum credits were not applied to our bill properly, another issue you might consider addressing.)

My wife and I have stayed at the Scottsdale Princess four times now, and the experience is always excellent. This trip was in celebration of our thirtieth anniversary, so we decided to make it special by sampling the Gold level amenities for the first time. We had a family gathering the week after Christmas at the hotel, Gold Lounge area. Great stay and accommodations as usual. Problem is, they are getting up to 12K-15K visitors a day to see the Christmas lights and happenings. This public exhibition trounces upon the paying hotel guest experience. So many people you can’t walk around. It’s just over the top.
