We loved staying at Sofitel Moorea over Christmas and had an amazing food experience from wonderful dedicated welcoming staff. Thank you especially to Pedro, the food outlet manager who seemed to be everywhere and made us feel exceptionally welcome. Bravo! You have a gem with Pedro. Madjo one of the bar and restaurant servers was also so kind and attentive. For the price paid — this property was way overpriced considering that it is due to close for an extended refresh. We expected more from a 5 star Sofitel in terms of luxury and small touches. It was really the food service staff who shone and made our stay memorable. The executive chef and his team also truly created a memorable Christmas experience. Beach is gorgeous and secluded. Coral garden is fun to snorkel in and complimentary snorkelling equipment and paddle boards was a bonus. Locally made soaps and body creams were a nice luxury. It’s our third visit to French Polynesia and we will be back. We were spoiled on our first trip to Tahiti by an all inclusive multi island experience with Pearl Hotels and resorts. We will check the final product of the resort refresh before we commit to returning to Sofitel.

The entire property needs to be updated and maintained. The food and beverage department needs to be elevated, the food was not good. The service was wonderful! The entire staff was amazing.

We loved the people, location and natural beauty surrounding this resort. We had ants in the bathroom and around the coffee maker which did not make this an exceptional property. Otherwise, it was a great place to stay.

Most amazing location of all Moorea, really good spot for snorkelling and convenient position with PADI just close by. Excellent food options, not too expensive. However, the hotel is very old. We could not sleep with A/C because the system was old and making such a loud noise that was impossible to fall asleep. Overall structure is really dated, including receptions and rooms. Really need renovation asap Service was ok, but not at the right level for a 5 starts and for the price paid. Everyone was kind and always with a smile, but a lots of mistaken made (long serie which we stopped reporting because it made us waste so much time), no one with professional experience, stray dogs coming dying breakfast and dinner asking for food… the all place was in decay, and we were paying 1500$ per night. A bit ridiculous

This was our first time visiting Tahiti and we were underwhelmed by the Sofitel. From the moment you get dropped off, there’s no welcome reception area and no signs to tell you where to go. First red flag: Our room had blood stains all over it. The rooms/furniture was outdated and was a crack in the ceiling of our bathroom. The whole ambience of the resort seemed sad and needed a good update.
