Best Rooftop Bars In Melbourne To Enjoy The Summer Sunshine

Take advantage of Melbourne’s summer sunshine at one of the city’s top rooftop bars.

Summer in Melbourne is the perfect time to discover the city’s best rooftop bars. Whether you’re after sweeping views of the city or a hidden terrace, Melbourne has so many great rooftop venues on offer.

Naked in the Sky | 285 Brunswick St, Fitzroy

Floating over Fitzroy, this rooftop venue provides panoramic views of the city as well as sweeping views down Brunswick street. Enjoy over a dozen beers on tap, Spanish and local wines or choose a gin from the bar’s dedicated gin menu. It’s no surprise this is one of Melbourne’s favourite watering holes.
Be sure to also sample their tapas menu which includes croquettes, baked camembert and lamb ribs. There’s no need to book. It’s first in best view, so be sure to get down early on those warm, summer days.

Madame Brussels | Level 3, 57-59 Bourke St

Astroturf, fruity cocktail jugs and staff dressed in tennis whites make up this garden party themed rooftop. With plenty of space along the terrace, Madame Brussels is the perfect spot to soak up some Melbourne sunshine while it lasts. Share a naughty cocktail like ‘But wait till you see her jugs’ while admiring skyscraper views along Bourke Street. Feeling a bit peckish? Why not share a charcuterie or cheese plate? Or satisfy your sweet tooth with delicious cupcakes and macarons.

Loop Roof | Level 3, 23 Meyers Place

Loop Roof is the quintessential Melbourne rooftop venue. Hidden down an alley in Melbourne’s east end, this bar is nestled among the rooftops with excellent views of Melbourne’s skyline. Loop is covered in potted plants with pretty blue baubles strung overhead. Its outdoor terrace manages to provide great city views without leaving you feeling exposed. In fact, you wouldn’t even know this bar was here. Be sure to sample some of their innovative cocktails like blackfruit fizz and grown up Fanta. Loop’s yummy food is designed for sharing. Their tacos are real crowd-pleasers and the middle eastern lamb chops are not to be missed.

Siglo | Level 2, 161 Spring Street

Climb the wraparound timber stairs above The Melbourne Supper Club and be rewarded with a Parisian terrace nestled amongst the treetops. With crisp white tablecloths, French bistro chairs and excellent table service you could be tricked into thinking you had been transported to Paris. Sip a classic cocktail, aperitif or of course champagne, while admiring the beautiful view of Melbourne’s Parliament house. Siglo’s open-air rooftop terrace is the perfect place to enjoy one of Melbourne’s balmy summer afternoons.
