Roar with the animals
Taronga Zoo has more than just an incredible array of wild beasts, it also has some of the most spectacular views of Sydney Harbour. After taking a ferry from Circular Quay, your family can climb into a gondola that takes you to the entrance.
As you ride up, you'll get your first glimpse at the elephants, koalas and lizards that call Taronga home. Here's a tip - make sure you catch the bird show, during which kids will get to see some exotic avian life soaring right over their heads.
Hands-on Science
Want an experience that is both fun and educational? Then head to the Sydney Powerhouse museum, the city's premier science destination. There are exhibits for both adults and kids at this unique venue, which is conveniently located in the Haymarket neighbourhood.
Right now, the museum has an exhibit about ancient Egyptian mummies from the British Museum. Or, if you're looking to entertain the kids, The Wiggles exhibition is bound to entertain and excite!
A day at the beach
No holiday in Sydney would be complete without a trip to the beach, but which shoreside destination is best for kids? Check out Balmoral Beach, on the Lower North Shore.
This is a classic family beach, because it has gentle waves, is located near the safe and beautiful neighbourhood of Mosman and has plenty of delicious and fun restaurants right near by.
