We booked a renovated courtyard room in which we stayed many time. There was no main heating only plug in convector heater. The bar early evening was packed with no space or social distancing. At breakfast, the queue came from breakfast bar out of restaurant into the bar. No social distancing and very few wearing masks to the extent that we felt so uncomfortable that we decided not to stay for breakfast. At checkout when we reported to reception the reply was just "sorry" but no offer of a refund for missed breakfast.

I booked 2 rooms, 202 was fine but I stayed in room 210. Unfortuantely the radiator didn't work and the sink didn't drain. The last time I got woken up was at 1am when the music was still playing at the party held at the hotel. My friend was not disturbed by the noise at all and while the room was a temperature fine for me, it wouldn't of been suitable for my friend at all. I'm not easily upset and despite these events I still enjoyed my stay very much. I understand I could of made you aware of these problems at the time and hopefully they would of got remedied. I'm informing you now for future repair. Kind regards Alex J.

The spa and treatments were very relaxing. We had booked a family room for 3 people but on arrival only had two cups and two teabags, so had to ask for more , we also found that there was no fridge in the room meaning we faced an issue as my mothers medication required refrigeration. On our inquiry we were told a small fridge in the room would be an extra cost, we agreed to pay this but it took at least two separate requests before we got one. We found the evening meal excellent, well cooked and well presented but in stark contrast to the breakfast as this was overcooked and dry. The Sunday morning breakfast was a total disaster and we asked for a refund. This was due to the fact that the day before a wedding had been held and all the overnight guests from the wedding were in the main restaurant for breakfast, queues were huge! Not the relaxing end to the spa weekend we had hoped for

My husband surprised me with an evening away and spa experience. The hotel is lovely and a stunning wedding/event venue. The food was average, not as good as expected but it was pleasant. The bar was really nice with great service.

This was my fourth visit. I love this hotel and prefer the traditional to the new. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The male on reception, name I cannot recall was super helpful and friendly and gave me a free voucher for a drink for being a loyal customer. He also rang my room to explain that the loyalty points would only be applied for food and drink as I did not make the booking. Food and service are excellent and hope I can return.

Cold but nice

The hotel was lovely, food amazing and the general staff were really present. The only negatives we have was the building and pool were so cold, although we get that being a huge open building. Lastly the manager I think, sat on her laptop in the small bar area openly talking about crack cocaine she's experienced on nights out while people queued at the unmanned bar could have been better?

Great friendly hotel

Stayed over New Years weekend- had done this a good few times before as part of a big group. The staff were very friendly as ever the rooms were great and the food was excellent! We did have a problem with the shower being cold one evening- but a phone call to reception rectified that within minutes. Lovely walks in the area. A great way to spend new year!

We stayed in a Privilege room and having stayed in another hotel the previous night we were disappointed. We had a shower room, no bath, although the was a coffee machine with 3 coffee pods and a couple of bathrooms nothing else felt special about the room. Breakfast was ok, but we walked down a featureless corridor and outside under a covered walkway and through a cold bar area, I guess it was closed, to get there. It felt like a Premier Inn. Our previous hotel had a bathroom two or three times the size, a comfortable sofa in front of the TV and better bathrobes.

Dear Ianr0gers196, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, I am sorry you felt disappointed. Our privilege rooms are as advertised on the website and as you stated. Sorry if this did not meet your expectation, the only rooms we have that sound like the other hotel you stayed at would be our suites which you can upgrade to upon arrival subject to availability. Kind Regards, Sally Blakey, Deputy General Manager

First room taken was difficult to find up a shady old wooden outside staircase . Then turns out that there were electrical issues. Another room sorted which looked fine but with the worst shower ever !
