Enjoying our 3 night stay at the Sofitel Broadbeach. From the welcoming glass of champagne on arrival, the fabulous reception staff who were warm and helpful to the lovely spacious river room we had. Fabulous king-size bed and large bathroom. It maybe a little dated in parts but it's location on Surf Parade and above the Oasis shopping mall is ideal. Would definitely stay again!!

Failed basic function - BAD BED - Not a 5 star Hotel.

The only good thing about this Hotel is the staff, check in helpful and friendly. On check out the receptionist comment to the effect she new about the old beds and that they are planning on doing something. The main purpose of a Hotel/Motel is to supply comfortable sleeping arrangements. The bed we had for one night only was the worst I have ever experienced in my life. If you are a yoga fan check out this pose on how you will sleep in the beds - Ardha Uttanasana. Basically your body is being folded in half. I only stayed the one night and only discovered the bad bed at 11pm when time to sleep. I have stayed at many 5 star hotels and resorts and also 3 star highway motels that are significantly better than this so called 5 star hotel. I wish I could get a refund for the stay here. There is also a mould/damp smell that needs the health department to look into, that is being masked by lovely scented hallways. i woke up with sinus pain due to this masked mould smell. Parts of the underground $25 per night, car park area has pools of stagnant water. The bathrooms looked clean but every corner of the room has a build up of dust that had been lazily mopped into a corner. 3 star highway motels are much cleaner than this 5 star hotel.

This IS NOT a 5 star hotel. Location is great, staff were friendly but the hotel is dated. Nothing in the bar fridge, no complimentary water. One morning I opens a shutter in the bathroom and it fell off missing my foot by an inch!! Great location but not a 5 star hotel.

This is probably one of the ugliest 5 star hotels I’ve frequented. Brown headboards to the beds, blue carpet, green occasional chair, grey desk chair, charcoal curtains, and fake wood paneling (think laminex) furniture. There are no 2 elements that complement. Who ever thought of this design and colour scheme was not thinking…. It looks like an op shop ensemble, The lobby also looks cheap and cheerful with strange elements like a few stools with tiny tables that are different style to the stools …..no furniture such as lounges to sit. They obviously aren’t interested in providing a comfortable environment and giving an impression of luxury…. I’ve never seen anything like it. My ocean view room was not really an ocean view because there were 8 buildings I looked into with ocean glimpses between. I was hoping for the Sofitel luxury brand but this is not that at all. Don’t waste your money. I’m an Accor plus member and this was really the worst 5 star hotel I’ve stayed at in their portfolio. The rating should be 4 star and even then it would disappoint.

The Service Really Is 5 Star

I hadn't stayed for about 15 years at Sofitel Broadbeach and although the rooms are still similar, the standout of this hotel is the 5 star service. From check in to check out, every member of staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome and important. The rooms are a bit older, but definitely comfortable, although be aware that the rooms facing the park and highway can be a little noisy, especially with the birds in the trees in the park. The breakfast buffet is great value, especially if you are an Accor member and the pool deck is excellent and perfectly positioned to enjoy the sun all day. The location is perfect and within walking distance of everything. I highly recommend staying here and I definitely will again.
