Clean modern hotel in good location

The location can’t be any better. The hotel right on the oceanfront and 100 m from the city heart. We got the best room on the top floor, and we could see large ships passing by. The room was spotless. The Malaysian restaurant onsite is good. It has Malaysian, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Philippine food. The breakfast was quite poor with limited selection. The reception staff were very helpful. On their recommendation, we visited the beach where fairy penguins come for nesting and an arboretum where we could see platypus. The valet parking for $25 was convenient. There is $10 council parking nearby.

Great rooms, lovely staff and amazing views! Don’t waste your time adding breakfast, it’s terrible, for a Novotel, and considering price per night, I would have excepted a lot better! Plus extra $5.50 for a coffee on top of cost of breakfast, drip style coffee included with breakfast but no automatic coffee machine that most hotels have these days. No room service after 8pm on a Saturday night, at least that was the message said when using QR code and no answer when I rung down. As a gold member I received some lovely Sparkling water and chocolates which was lovely.

Great views of the Spirit of Tasmania; great restaurant

The Novotel is a great addition to Devonport. Rooms are great especially on the river side with great views of the Spirit of Tasmania. The restaurant is fantastic and good value . The only downside is parking and the check in process if you have a car. There is very limited space in front of the hotel for dropping off bags which is a problem because the parking garage is a few blocks away. There is also no assistance with luggage when you arrive. If they could fix this issue then the hotel would be even better.

Excellent hotel very convenient to the Davenport docks after arriving on the spirit of Tasmania All the staff were excellent and respectful we really enjoyed the in house food and hospitality

We stayed here for four nights, and were quite happy with the room and service. Being Accor Platinum we had breakfast included in the rate, and that included coffee as well.. which was a nice touch. Breakfast was sufficient, with a range of items on offer We also had dinner in the restaurant on two nights (and used our Accor Plus discount). Both meals were good, sufficient quantity and great service. Valet parking at $25 seemed a bit steep, and we opted to use the $10/day car park just up the road, which the hotel organized for us. All in all, a great stay with great service, in a hotel in a good location
