We stayed a night at Terrace Downs to celebrate a birthday and try out the food as recommended to us. Our 'Deluxe' Villa was spacious and had a good outlook, but it was grubby. The carpets were stained, the windows were smeared, and a good vacuum would have removed the fur bunnies and dead spiders from behind doors. The meal was mostly good. Excellent entree. But the wagyu steak was dry and chewy. The chef agreed, and we were not charged. A free wine helped ease the disappointment.

Our trip was lovely, we had beautiful weather. The surrounds were very picturesque. Short dive to the lovely Methven. Lots of children staying at the resort...

We stayed in this resort in the shoulder season and they were certainly not overbooked since I suspect they are a destination resort and it was a November Monday. We came here enroute from the west coast towards Christchurch and looked for a spot in the country rather than in the city. The resort is a year-round golf resort and perched in the shadow of the Mount Hutt ski area. We were absolutely staggered to be upgraded (unasked - thank you!) to a luxurious two bedroom suite with a wonderful view of the mountains and the championship level golf course. Full kitchen with four burner stove and oven, dishwasher etc. Large jacuzzi tub. Huge super king bed. We enjoyed our bottle of wine on the large balcony deck watching the sunset and the southern stars. Unfortunately we were not able to sample the onsite restaurant (the front desk had reached out to us to see if we wanted to make a reservation but we didn't get the message until we had made other plans) but the menu looked very good indeed as did breakfast. This was our last full day in NZ and in retrospect we would have gladly stayed longer. Next time perhaps! Delightful accommodation.

Bel complesso di appartamenti immersi nella natura, molto silenziosi e spaziosissimi. L'appartamento è ben fornito, con splendida cucina attrezzata, un bel salotto con camino e un balcone con vista. La doccia era troppo aperta, entravano troppi spifferi. In generale è un country club con campi da golf e da tennis, noi lo abbiamo usato come base per una notte prima di continuare il nostro viaggio verso sud e quindi era un po' sprecato. Ha un buon ristorante nella struttura principale (consiglio la bistecca di Wagyu).

We verbleven hier 1 nachtje in een suite. Alle kamers zijn ingedeeld in verschillende gebouwen, verdeeld over het golfresort. Vanuit zowel de zitkamer als de slaapkamer hadden we uitzicht op de golfbaan. Hele grote accommodatie met grote slaapkamer (heerlijk bed), grote badkamer (beste jacuzzi), woonkamer en grote keuken. Eigen wasmachine en droger, maar die hebben we niet gebruikt. We hebben genoten van de verzorging, uitstraling en luxe van deze accommodatie.
