Most of the staff were polite and professional. However, my experience with one of the receptionists left me disappointed. This staff member handled my case in a manner that felt unprofessional and, unfortunately, I felt there was a biased attitude toward us. This was unexpected and quite disheartening, as it didn’t align with the otherwise welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. I hope the management addresses this issue, as such behavior can significantly affect a guest’s experience.

This is a beautiful hotel, with a stunning restaurant and lounge that I was unable to find time to enjoy during my stay. The location is great for walkability to many, many shopping/dining opportunities and just a short walk to the train station and the Dotonbori area. There is a seven floor Don Quijote nearby - with the tax-free check-out on the 7th floor. Our room was cosy with two beds, washer/dryer combo, microwave, kettle, two armchairs at a west-facing window, where we enjoyed the sunsets. The beds were comfortable, the giant soaker bathtub was quite the treat, as was having in-suite laundry mid-vacation!

Front desk is rude and unhelpful. C Chen of front desk DID NOT honor what was stated in our contract.

Front desk did not follow what was stated in our contract for longer stay stay with complimentary breakfast. This necessitated additional unnecessary expense. So frustrating. What a bad start for our stay. Unless reparations are made, I don’t think this will make up for that incident.

Hotel is not far from JR station (10 min walk). Strategic location to walk to train and shopping street but city sound might make you annoy during night hours. Room is quite dark and cramped. I think their furnitures are too much while brightness is not enough (I need to use my cellphone flashlight LoL). Breakfast area, seats are not enough. Need to wait in peak time and food is just OK not good not bad. Staffs are nice and kindly support any requested.

As an Accor member, I usually prefer to stay at one of the Accor brand hotel unless there is a better option. Seeing that this Hotel is quite new and its close location to Dotonbori, I didn't hesitate to book our stay here. Usually before visiting, I always try to search how the room would look like on tripadvisor and youtube. Seeing the review here, I expected how dark the room was gonna be. I don't like my room to be dark but I don't want to cancel my booking. we stayed the corner room, which has a pretty large window, which makes it much brighter during the day. But at night, the room was really dark. I think that is how the mercure brand ambiance is across Japan. I honestly don't love it, I like my room bright and clean. However, to my surprise the corner room provide us with washing machine and microwave. I planned to do my laundry at the communal washing machine but so happy with the in room washing machine. I also love the japanese style bathroom, I think it makes bathing my kids much easier. There is a family mart across the entrance too. If you look for a nice and new hotel in Dotonbori area and plan to use just sleep in the hotel, not spending much time in it then this is a perfect hotel. BUt if you like to stay in the room and enjoy the room, unless you like a spooky, gothic style hotel then u won't like it as much.
