Nice hotel in a very touristy area

Stayed right now for two nights only. A bit too touristy its location but the rest was pretty good. Very good Diamond/Platinum status recognition, friendly and fast checkin, rooms bigger than regular in these more business oriented hotels. 5 Stars within its category. Breakfast you got at the coffee shop on the premises, a Tullys Cafe. Only the option of a pancake late or a hotdog plate. I actually dislike both but okay.Okay at the right price. My room was 1033and everything was more than okay. For the price paid.

We stayed in the ibis Styles for three nights in November. If you arrive in Kyoto at the main station, it's a two station hop from it if you get off at Shijō Station and about a five minute walk down Shijō Street so the locations excellent. Check in was very simple and smooth, all the staff were professional and efficient.  The hotel entrance and lobby was really nicely laid, with an old Japanese Style to it. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, both the beds and the bathroom. The shower especially was lovely and had a great power setting.  Great spot to stay.

I stayed here privately for a while. It’s in the prime location of Kyoto city but also a very calm place to stay. Everything is very convenient including an easy access to great shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and convenience stores nearby. Also very close to all the transport. For a short stay, it would be good to purchase 1 day bus pass which you can hop on any buses as you walk out of the hotel. I had a comfortable size room and a nice bed for myself on the 10th (top) floor where it had an access to a laundry room with a small lounge room with a microwave ready. These made my long stay so easy. Also all the hotel staff members are very kind and caring. Every request I asked for was so welcomed and handled perfectly. I often stay at Accor hotels in Europe ranging from IBIS/Adagio to Pullman/Boutet. But I must stay that this IBIS Styles in Kyoto Shijo has many great qualities in every aspect and these could match all the top services at Novotel and any above graded Accor hotels in Europe. Needless to say, the hotel’s hygiene levels are very high and everywhere is immaculate. Highly recommended, especially for your long stay in Kyoto. By staying here, everyday is easy and comfortable so that you can enjoy your sightseeing as much as you wish. イビス・スタイルズ京都四条ホテルに、プライベートで1週間ほど滞在しました。簡潔に言うと、「とても快適で、毎日リラックスして過ごせるホテル」と、言うところでしょうか。バス・地下鉄・阪急田舎の駅のいずれにも凄く近く、ホテルの周りには様々なお店・レストラン・コンビニ・スーパー・バー・デパートと、本当に何でもあります。お散歩がてら少し歩くと京都駅や京都御所までも行く事が出来ます。周りに何でも揃っている割には騒がしいと言う事もなく、週末はいつもより少し賑わうようですが、一度ホテル内に入ってしまえばとても静かです。お部屋は10階でしたが、ベッドも寝やすく快適で過ごしやすい部屋でした。特に広い部屋ではありませんでしたが、それでも部屋内にヨガマットを出して毎日iPadヨガをするぐらいの余裕は全然ありました。10階フロアにはランドリールームと、電子レンジが設置されているラウンジエリアがあり、これは非常に便利でした。洗濯機は乾燥機付きです。お部屋は新しく清潔で、冷蔵庫やケトルも部屋内に完備でしたので、部屋内で過ごす時間もいつも快適なものでした。 そして、スタッフの皆さんも気が利く方々ばかりで、本当に素晴らしいサービスでした。1人旅ですと、色々と出来る事も出来ない事もありますが、滞在中1つ1つのリクエストに対して、スタッフの皆さんが快く、そして、丁寧に対応して下さいました。これには非常に感謝しております。大変ありがたかったです。 京都にまた訪れる際には、是非また宿泊したいホテルの1つです！

Decent affordable hotel in central Kyoto

This hotel is in a nice location with a bus stop and Tully’s right in front and a FamilyMart right across the street. Major sightseeing locations like Kiyomizu-dera, Inari Taisha, and Ginkakuj-ji are just a short trip away. The accommodations are typical of business hotels in Japan. A bit small by western standards but actually bigger than some APA hotels I’ve stayed at. Considering the price I paid I can’t complain at all and would recommend for the budget-conscious traveler who just needs a place to sleep or take a break between sightseeing trips.
