Honestly, dirty. Stains on the floor, curtains, walls, table, toilet. Its super used and not well maintained. For the price paid, absolutely not worth it. Yes, its very near to the train station but its still not worth the price at all. I wanted to stay here all the way but left halfway cause it was really not a nice feel at all. I’ve stayed in many ibis styles and ibis hotels and this is by far the worst in terms of condition. So am really quite disappointed. Will not recommend unless they decide to do proper maintenance. Service staff are also just doing their job at bare minimum level. Like, there is no jap hospitality feels or vibes at all. This is my 4th hotel in japan for this trip. My other hotels were all cheaper than this but already had way better service. Water pressure is also terribly low. Like, its just weak. The whole experience was sad, and in japan, i didnt think it could be this disappointing.

The pros are on the title. All the rest I found annoying: the size of the room, the size of the bed, the ugly curtains, the central aircon system which I could not operate at my will, their policy of "your room is actually ready but if you want it before 2 PM it is Y$ 2000" (it was 11:30 AM), the sound of the extractor in the tiny bathroom which could not be turned off and was too tired to complain about, the need to take buses (always full) to any sight from this location. In sum, a perfectly forgettable experience.

If you want a dirty Hotel!

The rooms are dirty and dusty; the pillows and mattresses have stains. The towel racks are covered in dust and grime — if you run your finger over them, you’ll get a layer of old dirt. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The carpet is stained and I even found bugs on it. The walls are marked with stains and dead insects, and the wallpaper is ripped off. It honestly feels like being in a horror movie.

3 Nights Stay at IBIS Styles Kyoto Station

Me and my wife went to Kyoto for our first trip together to Japan on 19th Sept 2025. We stayed at Ibis Styles Kyoto Station Hotel for 3 Nights, checked out on 22nd Sept 2025. The Hotel is easy to find. After we landed at Kansai Airport, we took the JR West Haruka Express for about 75mins to Kyoto Station. Upon reaching the station, we walked for about 5 to 8 minutes and reached Ibis Styles, just across the Station, very visible signage of the Hotel. We were warmly greeted by a front desk staff Mr. Jorge. He was very patient with our queries of tourist attractions and showed us on a map how to get from one location to another. The room is clean, good air-conditioning, the bed is comfortable. Noted the amenities have to be obtained from the counter near the Reception at level 3. The daily Brekfast is also quite a good spread. Thanks Ibis Styles Kyoto Station for a wonderful stay. William Loke 22nd Sept 2025
