This hotel located strategically in Ginza. It's walking distance to Uniqlo, Muji, Onitsuka, Sheisedo, and Yamaha Flagship store. It's too bad that the room was so small, compared with other ibis styles hotels in other countries. but it is understandable since perhaps the property in Tokyo is so expensive. You can not expect too much also when you want to use privilege as a platinum member, since they don't have any better room to be offered as upgrade room. They don't provide buffet breakfast, instead, they have set menu provided in the Thai restaurant in their premises.

The location right in the centre of Ginza was fantastic, with 2 train/subway stations about 300m from the hotel on opposite ends (Shimbashi and Ginza). The Ginza station served 3 lines - the Ginza, Hibiya and Marunouchi lines - which brought us direct to all the places that we wanted to go in the city. On the day we arrived at Haneda, we took the Keikyu Airport Line direct to Shimbashi station and from there it was a 10 min walk. Although it was close to midnight when we arrived, we felt totally safe walking in the area. The hotel met all our expectations. The room size of 14 meter square is reasonable for this class of hotel. They did away with the wardrobe but had extended open hooks for hanging your clothes. The double bed seemed smaller than a queen. For couples with smallish-frames (maybe <70kg), it might just be ok for a couple of nights. It was also fortunate that our luggage was cabin-sized. A small thing to note, but such a thoughtful feature, was that there was a tiny ledge all around the room, and it was super useful for us, as a place to put our chargers, mobile, spectacles and other tiny knick knacks. What was really awesome to me was the bathroom. Surprisingly, it could even fit a bathtub, something not expected for a budget hotel. Although it was not a full length bathtub, it was large enough for a heavenly soak (with bath salts provided by the hotel) after a tiring day. The bathroom was well-fitted with auto bidet and heated toilet seat as well as sufficient racks to put your toiletries. It also had a sink with an off-centre tap to allow for mini handwashing of clothing items and an adjustable line for drying your clothes. For larger clothing items that needed washing, there were 2 washing machines cum dryer which cost 500 yen per 3kg load, detergent provided. Note that the clothes are not 100% dried even after an extra 30 min drying cycle, so do allow time for further air dry overnight. Other amenities were the shared microwave oven on the ground level, shared iron, free coffee in the morning, limitless choices of teabags as well as sachets of all types of toiletry products at the reception. The hotel also provided umbrellas for borrowing which came in really handy on unpredictable wet days. I find that these were all very thoughtful provisions for the budget traveller. The service staff always had a smile and a cheerful word. The receptionists could communicate in English and we had no problems with housekeeping. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. For this price point around the peak cherry blossom season, we felt we have made an excellent choice.

The hotel is conveniently located near the subway and local train lines, making it easy to get to Tokyo Haneda Airport, and within walking distance of JInjuku Station. Rooms are small but comfortable. Large breakfast buffet. Restaurants, coffee shops and convenience stores open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Ibis Hotel standard was not met.

The room was too small for two people and two suit cases. You had to climb into the bath tub to have a shower. There were no English speaking television programmes to watch. On the good side it was close to a Tokyo Metro station. The hotel breakfast was okay. There were lots of restaurants/cafes around. Glen & Julie N.Z.

Great economical hotel in Tokyo Ginza area. 15 minutes walk to Ginza subway, 40 minutes walk to Tokyo Station. Friendly staff at hotel, attached cafe serving set breakfast was enjoyable & food fresh. Only down side for me as a westerner, no English tv channels. Would stay again.
