As Ibis Hotels have it own standards of rooms, we have expected it in this hotel too. But this one is really old fashioned and very-very basic, however our room was always clean. It's convinient to stay only for a couple of days. As for check-incheck-out, it's very simple and fast. You can easily do it at the self-desk. Location is perfect! Hotel is located in the center, close to the main attractions which can be reached on foot. There is no soundproofing between the room and the corridor, so at night I would wake up from any knocking on the neighboring doors or from slamming doors. Breakfast was various and tasty.

Overall, not great.

Not a very comfortable experience. A weird 'self'service' check-in. A human helped anyway so why not just have a human do it? Communal touch screens are unhygienic. Beds are lumpy, not hotel quality. The lights in the room are connected to the bathroom light, so one person cannot try to sleep if the other is still in the bathroom. There are no healthy/alternative diet breakfast opions such as muesli or just eggs. The only redeeming feature is the Mee So restaurant for dinner which is great!

I have stayed at this hotel previously and gave it 3* at the time. A couple of months ago I decided to give it another try, mainly because Sydney hotel prices were through the roof at the time, and this place was relatively affordable. I should have spent the extra $$ and stayed elsewhere. Some things were just as poor as a couple of years ago - for example, the bed was very uncomfortable and the AC system noisy. But some things got even worse since my previous stay, especially the cleaning standards. Found a long black hair in the tea-making area - definitely not mine. Do the staff not bother cleaning the rooms between guests? I also made the mistake of sitting in the chair in the room wearing only my underwear (no trousers). A mistake it was, I ended up with serious inflammation on both thighs that was consistent with dust mites. Never, ever had this in any hotel before; this seriously makes me question their hygiene standards. There will definitely be no third try, I'm done with this hotel.

Extremely disappointing

As an Accor Plus member, I booked this hotel for its location close to a friend’s non Accor hotel. Paying more than $300 a night for a “Deluxe King” room I was confident we’d be comfortable. The check in area was inadequate for the constant stream of guests seeking luggage storage, and check in or waiting with luggage and made even more congested as the desk was also bizarrely required to serve as a takeaway coffee bar to boot. Checkin, once achieved, was uninformative, lift access was prompt but the room on the 17th floor immediately disappointing. The building is old and while the room was clean enough and the bed comfortable, the bathroom was tiny, with no hand towels and little vanity space on offer. The a/c unit was large and noisy, there were no reading lights or charging points by either side of the bed and very few amenities. The view was as ordinary as the room, across ugly rooftop equipment. When I enquired if we could have a reading lamp, I was met with a quizzical refusal by the night manager who didn’t seem to even understand my request. At half the price, this experience would have been barely tolerable but at close to $1000 for three nights it was, as a visiting friend commented, a rip off. I feel let down by this experience and will be much more studious when next booking through my Accor app as price was certainly no indication of amenity or satisfaction on this occasion.
