From day one had trouble with booking ,had to book seperate days And that cause a lot of problems Had a friend also meet us there and tried to join ,so much drama Receive email before we arrive asking what we would like,don't bother with that they don't read them

Great hotel particularly for business travellers

Excellent service from all staff It’s boutique but not in a self indulgent manner. The design is modern with good modern room facilities. We had a nice view towards the park and yes it has the noises of the city but that comes with being in the cbd. The room we had was very good and the shower area was large and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast on level 1 was very good and satisfying, the coffee was excellent. The gym is small but adequate and the pool and pool area nice. It was our first visit to this hotel and was just overnight but it was very good and I think would particularly suit business travellers, as it is well located for walking to the business area (10mins). If you take the train into the city from the airport the Museum station is quite near and fairly flat. If you ever stayed at the Lindrum in Melbourne, it has a similar vibe… but its’s a fair bit better. In all, it’s a good alternative to the Wentworth.

From the moment you enter the restored facade of the beautiful Porter House Hotel Sydney you are transported from the 1800’s to 2024. The bar, cafe and dining areas are modern, contemporary with an industrial scandi feel. This also reflects and is carried through to the accommodation and suites. Dixon & Sons restaurant is simply beautiful. A great space for breakfast, lunch or dinner and catching up as a couple or with friends. The team are warm, friendly, engaging and professional. The Porter House Hotel is a great addition to the Accor group and Its convenient location in the Sydney CBD.

Tech gone mad

We were booked into this hotel as part of a group for a 4 night stay. Our first room faced the road where there were major building works going on all night so impossible to sleep We complained and were given another room so had to pack everything up in order to move. It was a smaller room but at least it was quiet. Everything is controlled by an iPad so there is a low level light in the toilet for night time use but it also lights the mirror over the basin. As there is no door one cannot use this during the night. And when you wake up in the morning you have to use the iPad to turn on the lights. The whole place is tech gone mad. There’s no floor 4 but there is 3A but that’s only accessible from one lift. Tried to access the pool on floor 11 but didn’t work. Basically in my view they’ve forgotten the hospitality basics of a good night’s sleep, decent shower and hot breakfast. I would never stay here again.

Perfect location in the heart of the city, fantastic service (especially from Renato who went out of his way to make sure my stay was memorable). The main bar was really nice, I didn't try the food however there is always next time, I will stay here again.
