The trouble started on the first night when we had booked an executive queen room. Besides there being nothing special about the room, we could hear a thumping noise all night from above and we requested to be moved for the rest of the stay. Mercure accommodated. We were told the lift wasn't working and we had to leg it up to the third floor with our bags. We then discovered that the lift was actually working but found it to be full of spilt milk. A few hours later someone came to clean it up. In the meantime, it had been walked down the corridor into a slippery, smelly mess. Breakfast was beige, with limited options. The bacon was soggy, and eggs were scrambled only and watery. We ordered room service on the second night. The toasted sandwich was flat and cold. The hot chips were undercooked, soggy, and oversalted. The steak sandwich was inedible. There are trees growing out of the gutters, and the place looks generally unloved. They have also done something strange with the room lighting, which I assume resulted from removing the card/key access in the room. You need an engineering degree to work out which lights work from which switches. Right now, even Travelodge did a better job than Mercure. It is grossly overpriced for what it is, and we won't be back. On the upside, the staff are doing the best they can, and the pillows were awesome.

Il magazzino è molto comodo per il mio lavoro. Non lo è molto per andare in città o alle spiagge. E' lontano e non ben servito dai mezzi. E' comunque molto facile trovare Uber/taxi qui in zona. Il personale è veramente gentilissimo e molto disponibile. La cucina 24 ore al giorno è molto comoda. La struttura è basilare, non vi sono servizi extra, come piscina o palestra.

Arrived and did the automated check-in, I like that idea makes it so much quicker. I went to my room and i was surprised by 3 mini doughnuts they were a nice treat. The room was fine very clean and tidy and the a/c was very good it was a hot day i ordered room service that was great value very nice. There is the sport club next door with a buffet and a bistro and Maccas in the carpark but the room service was a great option and well worth it. Thanks to the staff at Mercure Blacktown.

Booked their restaurant for team’s Christmas party and Mercure Blacktown surpassed our expectations. We were well looked after, menu and food really great with affordable prices. Their GM Stephen and managers Ollyvia and Marjan so friendly and accommodating. They also have a big backyard lawn where we chill out after dinner. Highly recommended and will book them again on our next work party.

There is a constant dull banging sound which prevented me from being able to sleep. I attempted to contact reception for support to either move to a room where the sound was not present or cancel my reservation entirely. The room itself was clean and has a comfortable bed and pillows. The check-in process was horrible & unpersonal. No welcome to Mercure, or please enjoy your stay, nothing. You check yourself in - like the self-serve kiosks across the driveway at McDonald's. You pay by card, the get a receipt with your room number. No instructions on where to find your room. The real-life receptionist is in the biggest hurry to get rid of you & quickly tells me to use the lift to my right just past the ladies cleaning the room with the door open and the unsightly laundry room- only to find that the lift was out of order. So I go back to the busiest receptionist without customers, who redirects me with all my luggage to the stairs past the maintenance trollyeys blocking the hall way. All in all - a horrible stay from the moment I completed my own check-in. If you're looking for a Maccas self-serve style get away with horrible service, exposed cleaning, and maintenance trolleys - book a room at Mercure Blacktown.
