Unsafe and Distressing Stay – Left the Hotel at 3:15 AM

We stayed at Mercure Paris Montparnasse Pasteur from 7th–9th September 2025, and the experience was deeply distressing and unsafe. On 8th September, two men dressed in black knocked at our door. One claimed to be from room service, but neither carried anything, and when my wife declined, one mocked her response and both laughed before leaving. This left her shaken and unsure if they were even hotel staff. Reception later insisted that maintenance needed to check the balcony door the same day, despite my wife requesting it be postponed until checkout. Already fearful, she reluctantly agreed. Not long after, another knock from “room service” came, increasing her panic. She felt so unsafe that she left the room with our children until the evening. When she returned around 8 PM, the tables she had placed against the door for security had been moved, even though we had been assured in writing that no one would enter. Clearly, someone had entered the room without consent. My wife was so distressed she checked out with our children at 3:15 AM, choosing to wait at the airport until our flight instead of staying one more night in the hotel. This caused emotional distress and extra expenses we should never have faced. I request the following: 1. A full investigation into the security and communication failures that occurred. 2. A clear explanation of who entered our room without authorisation. 3. Compensation for the distress, disruption, and additional costs incurred. I expect an urgent response and resolution. We will not return to this hotel and urge management to take guest safety seriously. Best regards, Clark

No recognition of my Diamond status, Bad room, when we ask for upgrade they said Upgrade of diamond members only if room available but by chance it is never available even if available on the website the refrigerator in the room does not work despite our reminder. Only one welcome drink when we are 3. It’s miserable. The lady at reception wanted to charge us for breakfast on weekends even though it's free for Diamond members. She asked me to show her the proof on the Accor website. unacceptable. Ultimately this Diamond status is useless!!!!

A fantastic hotel with a very friendly staff in a great location of Paris!

My family & I stayed at this property from July 24th to August 5th while attending the Paris ‘24 Olympic Games. We were very happy with the confort of the rooms, the breakfast quality of food, but mist important the friendliness & smiles of the staff! The hotel is close enough to the “lights” of Paris, yet far enough to make you feel a real resident of Paris. Thank you to all of the hotel staff for giving us such a positive experience! Please do not stay here. We stayed here in June, so the weather was quite warm already. However, the room did not have a functioning air conditioner, so the lady at the front desk gave us a single small fan which obviously was not able to cool down the room. This inevitably lead to a family member getting a terrible migraine, ultimately ruining their overall experience of Paris. Additionally, the water pressure of the shower was terrible and the rooms toilet paper was never restocked. Do not waste your money on this establishment, it is 100% not worth it.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights and this would be our first choice once we're back in the city. Good value for money, residential area (so pretty safe to walk during night) and close to the metro. Friendly staff, specially Kathleen at the reception that made this trip extra special and memorable, with a good insight into what's going on around the city, events and stuff to do in general. Thanks for the Harry Potter exhibition recommendation! She was wonderful and always with a smile on her face and really made me and my family feel welcome during our first stay in Paris.
