Very good all-round stylish hotel

Nota Tripadvisor 5.0/5

SonicYouth1 Avaliação com certificação TripAdvisor

The rooms are like a chic basic, stylish again but perhaps not as impressive as the lobby/exterior. The breakfast is good without being very good. The coworking space is really nice, airy, looks great. The rooftop bar is underrated, pool is nice as well as gym. Seems a popular hotel with very good service and great location.

Great budget hotel with pool

The hotel is great! It is located near BTS and MRT. There are many nice restaurants nearby (10 mins walk). The staff are nice and helpful. The pool is not big but good enough and the gym room is equipped with basic equipments which allow you to keep working out. However, I found some mirrors things that can be improved 1. The coffee machine (Dr coffee) should be good for making good coffee , but I found the coffee is not good at all, may be the machine maintenance or coffee beans, please look into it. 2. Will be awesome if you can serve make-to-order eggs and I know you are improving , but can do better 3. Breads and pastry are not too nice, please consider to get a new providers 4. Bath top area is slippy, we have to pay very attention I will visit again for sure.

Extremely loud distracting poolside music.

I am great fan of the Ibis Styles Silom and the staff I have stayed many times .But unfortunately the pool side music in the afternoon is now too loud and distracting despite requests to reduce the volume these have fallen on deaf ears . Such loud music spoils a relaxed pool side experience . Note I have no problem with a disco experience early evening to late at the pool .

A mix between The W Taipei and a claustrophobic Tokyo business hotel

This hotel's designers really paid attention to ambience. Its tiered lobby's warmth invites guests to sit down and relax under a cathedral ceiling. Its rooftop pool and bar area feels luxurious, a great place to enjoy some mojitos in the glorious sun. The pool itself is long enough to swim some laps, and although there are only a few deck chairs on one side of the pool, I never had a problem finding one to lay down on. The color scheme and music throughout the hotel remind me of The W Taipei, one of the world's great hotels. But then there are the rooms, which seem to have been designed by people who have never went on vacation. They are so tiny they will inject stress into your holiday. The low ceilings will make you feel like you are being crushed. As for space, there's a small amount of it on three sides of the bed. A tiny fridge with some glasses, mugs and water bottles on top occupies some of the room's valuable real estate, and the world's smallest desk is shoe-horned into a corner. With almost no desktop or counter space, the room will feel cluttered as soon as you empty your pockets onto the tiny desk. There is also no closet. A small space for your suitcase has been sandwiched between the toilet and the sink. Above the luggage space is a rack where you can hang some clothes. Two hangers are provided. There is also no door between the room itself and the bathroom/suitcase space. Picture a prison cell with a toilet at one end. If you need to use the toilet, you will do so in full view of the other prisoners in your cell. Now let's talk about the lighting. When you walk into the room, all of the lights go on, in the room itself, the one over the toilet, the one over the sink, the one in the shower and the one on the balcony. You then have to walk around the room to turn off all the unnecessary lights. There is a similar problem at night. If you wake up in the middle of the night, you will have to turn on either the room light (there is a switch on the far side of the bed) or you will have to turn on all of the lights (there is a master switch on the near side of the bed). The bright lights will attack your eyes and completely take you out of your drowsy nighttime state, making it very difficult to fall asleep again. If you are traveling as a couple or family, this will also wake up everyone else. Again, the rooms seem to have been designed by idiots who have never stayed at a hotel in their lives. Why not include a small, dim nightlight next to the toilet? The air conditioner is another source of frustration. There is no remote control, so when the room gets too cold you have to get up from bed and turn up the thermostat. Except the thermostat has a mind of its own and about 15 minutes later will revert back to the cold temperature. I ended up turning off the air conditioner the first night I was at this hotel, only to wake up hot and sweaty. If you complain about the air conditioner problem to the front desk, they will tell you they will have "the engineer" set your thermostat to your preferred temperature. So it turns out that the air conditioner can be remotely controlled, not by the guest but by some "engineer" entity. Call me old school, but I prefer conventional air conditioners that allow me to control the temperature myself. One good thing about the air conditioner is that it blows cold air into the bathroom. The cold air then wafts into the rest of the room (remember, there is no door). A freezing cold bathroom is preferable to cold air blasting right over the bed, which is common in way too many hotels. Now the balcony. This feature helps to enlarge the tiny room and gives you a warm space to enjoy some of the street food that is available nearby. But balconies are only available with a handful of rooms and unfortunately look out onto two ugly, weather-beaten parking garages. Ugh. With all these drawbacks, you would expect Ibis Style's rates to be low, but instead the rates are comparable to those of a luxury hotel. Perhaps it can get away with charging high rates because of its great location near all the gay venues along Silom (the hotel's guests seemed to be predominantly gay men). It is definitely no bargain. If you stay here, don't bring any luggage or travel companions. And brace yourself for an assortment of inconveniences.

Good location but not so good sleep

The location is good. Very close to BTS station, night market and convenience store. Pretty new and nice design hotel. The private bathroom design is not suitable if you stay with someone you are not close. There’s a glass window between the bed and bathroom which is quite common or ok. But the curtain provided is outside shower room which is weird if to provide privacy. The bathroom tile is slippery especially after shower gel or shampoo. I stayed for 2 nights. I was given a room facing internal lobby hall and no window facing outside view. There’s an event on first night and it was very noisy until 1030pm even I was put at 7 floors. Can’t imagine those at the lower floors. The 2nd night without event but still can hear the noise from the lobby where people laugh, talk, shout and sing. The management really needs to look into the soundproofing system of the room.
