We stayed at the Harlow Hotel curtesy of Alfa Travel coach tours to visit London which is over an hour's drive away. The hotel is clean but very basic and hardly recognisable from their website photos. The buffet breakfasts were very good but the evening meal buffet was average. The restaurant staff need training. They disappeared very quickly and on 2 of our 4 night stay I had to look for cutlery and set our dinner table. You cannot order a bottle of wine so have to keep leaving your tepid (on cold plates) dinner to get more drinks from the bar. We had to leave our empty dinner plates on adjoining tables to make room for pudding as there were no staff in the restaurant. The puddings were cleared away while diners were still in the restaurant, so when asked they had to be brought from the kitchens. Incredibly when my partner managed to speak to staff to ask for a dessert spoon, the young man moved over my spoon to his place. When asked again he said nothing and came back and put down a soup spoon and walked away. This hotel appears mostly to cater for commercial guests, conferences. and workmen located nearby. It is not a holiday hotel and standards in the restaurant are low at dinner. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. I brought this matter to the attention of Alfa Travel but have had no response from them - very unprofessional.

Very comfortable room with everything you could want. Excellent location just off the M11 and ideal for a one night stay. Value for money score was difficult to assess as £57 for such a room was an absolute steal but £16 for such an indifferent breakfast was a complete rip off. That said, I would stay again.

I have been staying here for over a month and have found the hotel a clean and comfortable stay. The biggest assets of this hotel are the staff ( except for one waiter) who are always polite, friendly, and welcoming. I must give a special mention to Alice on reception who has gone above and beyond to solve any issues I have had quickly, efficiently, and with a big smile, what a lovely girl. I can recommend this hotel as a great place to stay while working in the area.

The room was adequate but had a foisty smell. The bathroom could do with an updated. We were at the end of a corridor and directly next to the main road, which was constantly noisy so it was hard to sleep. However the bed was comfortable, the shower was great and the staff were very pleasant.

I previously added a review but vanished. Lovely stay at the hotel. Right from the start, the receptionist greeted us warmly, making us feel instantly welcome. A special thanks to Eric at the bar for his exceptional service and great recommendations on places to visit, adding a special touch to our trip. Eric’s friendly attitude and attentiveness really enhanced our experience. Additionally, the hotel’s prime location near Stansted Airport was incredibly convenient only 16 minutes in the taxi.
