We had a family celebration at the Mercure on 31st January. The whole event was fantastic ! The venue was amazing and the team involved from us booking in December to the party on 31st were amazing. Rebecca arranged everything for us and was there to assure us all would go to plan. Jodie was there on the night to make sure everything ran smoothly. They were both so efficient, professional and so very helpful. The bar staff on the night were amazing, everyone was served quickly and politely. There were people making sure that the buffet was served promptly and that plates were tidied and collected, and the food was delicious! Rebecca arranged the DJ and he was fantastic, kept everyone dancing til 1am ! All in all a brilliant night.

Had my 30th birthday at the Mercure hotel, staff were outstanding, brilliant service on the night. Special shout out to Rebecca and Jodie from Mercure who were brilliant in helping us! Would absolutely recommend booking here for any events you have!

Went for a pilkington pensioners get together meal. The soup was ok, but the main meal was pork loin that was burnt and hard just 2 very small potatoes and just a few veg with very watery gravy. And a tiny bit off chocolate cake with a bit off ice-cream. When we finished I went to bar for some coffee but there was nobody there so after waiting 10 mins just went home for a coffee. In all this was such bad food and service RUBBISH.

Lovely hotel, close to the centre, although the short cut into town through the stores car park next door has been blocked off . Nice rooms but basic amenities, also after enquiring ,they don’t provide a safety mat for the shower which ultimately stopped my wife from using said shower as she has recently had two knee replacements and couldn’t use the bath. Something to consider. Lovely staff , great breakfast but only Nescafé sachets if you want a decaf coffee. But we would definitely stay here again (and bring a safety mat ) 👍

Das Hotel wäre mit der Bewertung Mangelhaft schon gut bedient. Aber abgesehen davon ist der Parkplatz eine Falle. Man muss das Fahrzeug an einem Automaten registrieren, bekommt aber kein Ticket. Tritt ein Fehler auf, den man ohne Ticket nicht erkennen kann bekommt man eine Anzeige wegen Falschparken. Da ich ein Gast war und alle Belege habe, sah ich darin kein Problem. Allerdings hat die Tatsache, dass ich ein Gast war, weder das Hotel noch die Parkplatzüberwachungsfirma interessiert und es wurden trotz der Belege alle Berufungen abgewiesen, was bedeutet, dass ich nun eine Strafe im Wert von GBP 100,- bezahlen darf. Vielen Dank für das gute Service.

I regret to hear that you have received a parking fine it appears that you missed to follow the signs in the parking and in the Hotel Lobby. Our Car Park is managed by a third party - Parking Eye, the terms and conditions are outlined on over 14 parking signs in the car park, the sign as you enter the car park and also the pull up banner located onsite the hotel reception. If you contact our reception team a member of the team would be more than willing to assist you with the appeal, however I must remind you that it is the responsibility of the driver to register their vehicle and to adhere to the guidelines of the car park chosen.
