Great stay and good value for money. Our room with twin beds was very clean. Good quality towels and bed linen . Nice toiletries too. We were only there one night so didn’t use any facilities, bar , pool etc. . Reception were friendly & helpful . 5 mins walk into the town centre , free parking .Would definitely stay here again .

Pleasant stay at this hotel for the weekend. Reception staff were welcoming and very helpful. Lovely clean and modern bedroom, but the twin beds joined together, was not a great experience. It dipped in the middle, so I would get stuck on the join, painful. The mattresses have seen better days and could really do with replacing now! The lounge and bar areas were clean and tidy. The restaurant where we had breakfast was great. Breakfast was presented quickly and very nice and hot on arrival. Special shout out to our server at breakfast Lucy. Give her an award! That woman whizzed around doing so much for so many people on both days Feb 1st and 2nd, with very little assistance and still managed to keep a smile on her face. My only criticism . PLEASE PROVIDE MORE STAFF IN THE BREAKFAST AREA.

I’ve been staying at the mercure fairly regularly over the past 4 years or so. Standards really dropped about 3 years ago, so I stayed at another location in the town. I came back to the Mercure at the end of last year due to availability issues. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised the standards have been raised across the board. I’ve stayed in 3 different rooms since then and the standard of cleanliness is very good, some rooms are slightly better in standard but overall they are fine. The general cleanliness in the hotel is very good and all the staff I have met are helpful and friendly. The breakfast is very good, and the young lady (Lucy) working in there was on her own on the 3 mornings I had breakfast, but was very helpful, friendly and efficient, and nothing too much trouble. One set of guests sat facing the toaster about 3 meters away asked her to make them toast, which she duly did. She is a credit to the hotel, as are most staff to be fair.

I visited the hotel yesterday afternoon for a celebration family and friends party. It was a first birthday party. Many friends had travelled far and were also staying over. On arrival the room looked amazing, everything that had been asked for was all in place. The Pyramid Suite looked gorgeous. Buffets for the adults and one for the children were amazing a mix of hot and cold food, all fresh, tasty and plenty of it. ALL OF THE STAFF were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Thankyou to Vicki and the whole team for a wonderful afternoon

Das Hotel wäre mit der Bewertung Mangelhaft schon gut bedient. Aber abgesehen davon ist der Parkplatz eine Falle. Man muss das Fahrzeug an einem Automaten registrieren, bekommt aber kein Ticket. Tritt ein Fehler auf, den man ohne Ticket nicht erkennen kann bekommt man eine Anzeige wegen Falschparken. Da ich ein Gast war und alle Belege habe, sah ich darin kein Problem. Allerdings hat die Tatsache, dass ich ein Gast war, weder das Hotel noch die Parkplatzüberwachungsfirma interessiert und es wurden trotz der Belege alle Berufungen abgewiesen, was bedeutet, dass ich nun eine Strafe im Wert von GBP 100,- bezahlen darf. Vielen Dank für das gute Service.

Our Car Park is managed by a third party - Parking Eye, the terms and conditions are outlined on over 14 parking signs in the car park, the sign as you enter the car park and also the pull up banner located onsite the hotel reception. If you contact our reception team a member of the team would be more than willing to assist you with the appeal, however I must remind you that it is the responsibility of the driver to register their vehicle and to adhere to the guidelines of the car park chosen.
