Movenpick somewhere else to stay

We chose the Movenpick because it’s a known name and claimed to be a 5-star experience. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Upon arrival, we were given a smoking room and were told there were no floors that had no smoking, my wife and I were battling colds so we asked for a non smoking floor, they said they didn’t have any so we started looking for other hotels at which point they magically found a room for us. The room was reminiscent of a 90s airport hotel with a lot of disrepair and a far cry from a 5 or even 4 star hotel. We tried to get dinner at one of the restaurants and couldn’t find a soul to serve us despite the working cooks in the kitchen telling us the restaurant was very much open. I would recommend you find somewhere else to stay.

I came with my two beloved sisters and their beloved husbands and with my beloved wife. It was our first time experience and I was hoping that they would like it and the hotel and their services did not disappoint us at all. Absolutely everything was in it's place. WiFi was extremly faster than we imagined, lifts were supersonic, water was super hot in shower and in the bathroom in general, entrance was grand and swift check in. Every staff member greeted us with a smile and swift in getting the required need. Absolutely amazing experience all round. I myself and my family are grateful to you guys for an outstanding service all round. Thank you so, so much for everything and probably might come again in the near future.

I can not understand the rest of the reviews!! It was fantastic, beautiful room with sea & pool view. Perfect breakfast buffet with freshly made omelets, fresh orange juice and a lot of choice to eat. Everything was clean and also the staff was very attentive! So highly recommendable!!

I had high expectations for my stay at Mövenpick Hotel in Tanger, especially given its association with the Accor brand. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of a disaster. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff lacked any semblance of hospitality. Not only were they unfriendly, but they also showed complete disregard for the Accor loyalty program. As a loyal member, I expected to be treated with a certain level of respect and courtesy, but instead, we were met with indifference and outright rudeness. The staff seemed completely uninterested in helping us, and any requests we made were either ignored or met with a dismissive attitude. It was evident that they had no intention of following the standard procedures or providing the service one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. To top it off, we were made to feel unwelcome and disrespected throughout our stay. It was as if our presence was an inconvenience to them. I have never experienced such poor treatment in any hotel, let alone one that carries the Mövenpick and Accor names. I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. The experience was horrible, and I will certainly not be returning. Mövenpick Tanger needs to seriously reevaluate its staff and management practices if it wishes to maintain any semblance of a reputable hotel.

This is definitely not a 5 star Hotel, not for the product and not for the service. We checked in & booked a Deluxe Sea View room. The view was half sea view half mountain. The room product was very basic and below even a 3 star hotel standard. Plugs were not working in the room(mentioned to the reception but never fixed), the Key did not go into the socket to turn on the electricity ( engineering had to come at 2 different times to help us turn on the lights), you cannot even stand straight in the shower in the bathtub as it is fixed too low). There is a tiny little balcony with not even a chair for you to enjoy the 'view' or 'outside space'. The overall service was extremely poor. Breakfast was a disaster, the staff running everywhere, dirty tables all over the place, the buffet never refilled and very limited in terms of options, the pastries de frozen. Lunch I asked for a salad one day & it came without any dressing & not at all what the description said in terms of ingredients. They only had 1 brand of Rosé in stock which of course was the most expensive one. On average it would take about 1 hour for the food to come. One day we ordered lunch by the pool as they had just served the people next to us and the first server said no. When we said the people next to us just were served they said ok. The next day we asked to be served by the pool and they said no... very confusing. The worst part is that at the check out when the manager asked if we enjoyed our stay and we said 'honestly it was not great' he replied 'OK'. I would never ever return, the prices for F&B are very high & not at all in line with the service. Room product is not ok & overall staff simply do not care (especially at the reception).
