CNY Holiday... A nice location for golf travelers ... not crowded. A bit out of the way . Need to book Grab Most of the time however is very near to the airport. 10 min work to the shopping all. Over all is a nice experience and the overall service is good

Hello, this is SMin from Korea.. I'm writing my first review of a hotel because it was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. (out of almost thousand stays) As far as I know, it's a 4 star hotel under the Accor brand, and I have a good feeling about Novotel and Fairmont in China. I was expecting just basic standard services, but their services made me feel bad as a poor inn from the moment I checked in. Usually normal hotel explains a lot of things which may not be necessary, but I was just told to ask if I needed to know something. (I had to find out where the breakfast restaurant was and running hours.) The first impression of room was terrible because it's super hot and PM2.5 dust level was so high. I'm not sure why the level of PM2.5 inside room surpassed that of outside. After taking a shower, the PM2.5 level became lower than the first but was getting higher and higher as the air conditioner was running. I had to turn off the air conditioner to keep dust level lower when we went to bed and had to endure hot room temperature. Next day I went out with air conditioner on and came back afternoon, finding super hot room again. I found somebody had taken the room key away and made the air conditioner off but it would've done enough just to raise the temperature to proper level. I thought it was a mistake of the cleaning staff at first, but I found out that Lobby staff considered it for granted when I went to them to get my room key back. Other things might be acceptable but still considered, the shower filter turned brown quickly. There're a lot of mosquitoes in the restaurant but no tropical fruits like a mangoes because it's April. There was a lady who dropped her plate and broke it and fell on top of it in the outside restaurant, caused by step height differences , you should be very careful. The breakfast wasn't to our taste, but they did have real kimchi. I don't think it's worth to try this hotel because there're a lot of great hotels in Chiangmai and I found a kind of mechanical reply from hotel GM, like a 'better serve you in the near future', and got confidence there should be no chance for me to have a new one. - revised review to avoid misunderstandings.

Beautiful boutique hotel near Nimman area

Relatively new hotel in the Nimman area and reasonably priced. The location itself is a bit off the Nimman main area and requires a short 8 min walk to get to the nearest shops and convenience stores. Rooms are relatively new and we appreciate the front desk for providing us with connecting rooms for my family. The toilets can be a bit awkward if you are with your friends as it's not fully covered up. Also, it lacks hooks for us to hang cloths in the toilets Breakfast was mediocre and doesn't have a huge spread but I guess it's understandable since it's not a huge property. Would recommend this hotel if you have your own transport as the location is a bit secluded. The swimming pool and gym is a bit small but the hotel is quite beautiful. Otherwise, we had a nice stay at this hotel and will recommend it for a short stay.

Not up to Novotel standards

As an Accor Gold status member, I was excited to find this property had opened in Chiang Mai. Sadly, it failed to meet expectations in every way. The rooms are small, but more importantly, poorly designed. The bathrooms don't have full doors, and the wall separating the sink area from the bed allowed light to leak over. The walls are thin and you can hear noise from the sink, as well as the flushing of toilets in other guest rooms. Not an upscale experience, to say the least. What they say is a garden is an outdoor space with barely grown shrubs, facing a corrogated steel wall, which feels more like a prison than a garden. The one saving grace is that the staff was friendly, and was able to help with the couple of things we asked for. Otherwise Novotel is a disappointment, with standards more akin to an ibis than a Novotel. For the premium price you pay, more should be expected and delivered.
