Such a wonderful experience

I travelled with my mum, and we had no idea what to expect. We were given such a lovely welcome by Glynnis and Craig and quickly felt at home. The rooms are wonderful, food really good and the staff just lovely. We went on our first game drive and were then hooked! Cilliè was so knowledgeable and if he got fed up with our endless questions, he never showed it! All the attention to detail (eg. decanter of port in the room, a fire in the lounge when it was chilly, a brai for all guests one evening, coffee, sundowners and nibbles on the game drives) whilst making it look effortless is a real art. There will be many a day to come when I wish all I have to worry about is whether I see zebras, rhinos or baboons when I open my bedroom curtains! The Founders experience will stay with us forever.

The stay at Mantis was one of the greatest experiences we have had. High quality service and experience. Being from Iceland, it was absolutely amazing to see all these wild animals free in their environment with really qualified guides. Recommend everyone to visit Mantis.

What a fantastic place! All the staff were friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. The room was amazing, looking out over the waterhole and with a little veranda we could sit on to watch the animals. The bathroom was enormous with a deep claw- foot bath and a separate shower cubicle. The food was delicious and exceedingly high quality. The game drives were well organised and we saw lots of animals. The addition of the viewing area at the waterhole meant we saw lots of animals up close. It was an amazing experience and we both wished we could have stayed for longer!

Amazing lodge for our honeymoon - exclusive safari experience!

Founders lodge was an amazing experience from our honeymoon. We stayed in the honeymoon pod and had amazing views and sightings from our balcony. Founders has its own reserve with rhinos zebras and giraffes regularly on site then the whole of shamwari where we saw elephants, lions and cheetahs. The safaris with our guide Marthus were outstanding, he was so knowledgeable about the animals and ensured we had amazing sightings on each trip - from elephants at the watering hole to rhinos and lions interacting. The service from the staff at founders was also amazing with gorgeous food and locations for every meal. Would 100% recommend, was a very exclusive but also homely stay!

Fantastic Game Lodge, Drives and Staff

At first we thought it was maybe a bit too posh for us, but we were very fortunate that on most of our game drives the 6 people bonded very well and engaged together in a good way. Our Ranger Cillie was excellent and did everything he could to get close encounters with all aspects of wildlife activity, including a new kill by Cheetas. Although we did not get to see the elusive Leopard on this occassion, Cillie did all he could to try and locate one. All the staff at the Lodge were great with frindly reception from Glynnis and excellent service at night from Tembe. If there is a criticsm, then there is too much of good food available, but hats off to the chefs for such good food options. Drink options were also very good. Overall a fantastic lodge, staff and game drives.
