Good place to stay but needs some love

Expect to be bombarded with hard sell the entire time. On the document I signed when booking in was a space to “donate” $5 to the local community. It was highlighted in fluff highlighter and there was no option to decline to “donate”. In your room the tv will be on bombarding you with this or that sightseeing trip, and at every shop you can “donate” some more money. I arrived after midday only to find my room was “not yet ready”. I only booked this room ages ago, and it was well past 12pm when I arrived via your shuttle that collected me at the only airport. I mean, it is not like I just arrived out of the blue. Beyoncé, who checked me in, said she would text me as soon as my room was ready, but she didn’t. So I had to go ask about my room again after dawdling around in the town square for ages. They had not made any effort to take my bags, which were at the front desk, to my room, so I had to drag them along. At least I slept well. The design of the room is very nice, and the bed and pillows were great, but beware, a “king size” bed is basically two singles pushed together so be careful not to fall down the centre crack. I also had an issue with months-worth of mould crawling up the tiles in the bathroom. Octarina, also at the front desk, got someone to come out and clean it, but why it was left to get to that state (in a desert no less), is hard to fathom? Or do guests just think the grout is supposed to be pink and grey in the shower? Toilet was truly badly stained and the toilet window also needs to have the privacy filter fixed as people could see me on the toilet unless I closed the curtain. Also why did you close the pool at 8pm when it says 10pm on the signs? Ruined my after dinner swim plans. The desk staff were friendly, and helpful when asked about things. It was overall a nice place to stay, even if it needs a bit more upkeep. I will return soon and hopefully find things had improved for the better.

We liked this hotel. For us it is a solid three star hotel. The rooms have everything we needed. Comfy warm beds, fridge, couch to sit on, good heating and clean. A bonus was the separate toilet and shower. There is a large pool - not that we used it. Too cold. The town centre amenities were an easy stroll. Reception was friendly and helpful - though sometimes spoke so quickly we could not always get what they were saying. The only aspect we did not like was the sound proofing. Anyone walking or talking outside in the corridor, past our room door, was very audible. We got woken up so used earplugs there after. We got up before sunrise and were away all day. This hotel was perfect for us given we spent very little time in our room. If you are wanting more luxurious surroundings then this hotel is not for you. We liked it and would stay there again. This is unpretentious, comfortable accommodation.

The Lost Camel is a great hotel in the Ayres Rock resort complex. Clean and tidy with all necessary amenities. Lovely looking pool area but too cold for us in June ! Very close to the resort town square with shops and eateries. Short walk to sunset viewing area. Fantastic stay.

Massive thanks to Lost Camel Hotel for the fantastic service you’ve provided us. The room was so lovely and kept clean every day! Everyone was helpful to us from the front desk, reception, housekeeping, and maintenance. We would like to commend Pela from maintenance who helped us open our locked luggage. We thought, we must break the whole thing just to get our clothes and stuff, but he was able to open it seamlessly! Also, the reception who brought Pela that day, thank you as well, we didn’t get your name.

Staff were amazing , beds and rooms comfortable and very central in the area of Yulara. Loved our stay at The lost Camel So many experiences you can do while you are out there Wintjiri Wiru - Sunset Dinner is just amazing and worth the money And just a simple bike ride around Uluru taking in the beauty and culture will open your heart to this area
