I stayed at The Cullen, Melbourne - Art Series for 1 night with my wife, in October. On arrival, we were disappointed to discover that there were no food or beverage outlets at the Hotel, as the license had not been renewed - not sure if this was an oversight or if it was deliberate, but disappointing, none the less. The hotel is in a good location, within walking distance of several bars and restaurants, so not a major problem. I booked a Suite on the Penthouse floor (6th floor) expecting something to special to remember and whilst the room was very pleasant, it was probably the smallest 'Suite' I had ever stayed in and had no bath! It also did not have any USB outlets in sockets, which was a pain! Overall, my experience of the hotel really came down to the room - which was nice, but definitely over-priced and under-facilitated. Quite frankly, there is better value elsewhere in the area - bigger rooms, with better facilities (like a bath and a view). Finally, I should mention the parking fee - $30 per day. This was reduced to $15 if you signed up to be a new Accor loyalty member, which I did.

This is my Third or Fourth time at the Cullen. First time in 2011. It's still just as cute and lovely since I first came. The price and quality is unmatched compared to anything in the city. The studio rooms are amazing for a weekend away. Lots of space and very comfy bed. I never love the frosted glass bathroom walls, but this is common in a lot of hotels now, so not much you can do, just a warning if you're planning a weekend away with a new partner and need private bathroom time... I always recommend this hotel to anyone staying south and will always come back. The staff are always friendly and I got early check in and late check out no issues.

great location, good value. Beds are comfortable but the set up with the glass wall (smoked) to the bathroom isn't ideal. Light shines through at night and not totally private as can see outlines.

I stayed at The Cullen Melbourne – Art Series expecting true 5-star standards, but was deeply disappointed. On my third night, I found cockroaches in my room , one on the bed and another on the wall. I have videos as proof. When I reported it, staff acted like nothing had happened and even room service wasn’t informed. Their solution was to move me to Room 217, but with no soundproofing, the noise from passing trains made it impossible to sleep. For such unhygienic conditions, the hotel only offered a one-night refund. This is unacceptable and does not reflect the protocols or service expected from a 5-star property

Tendy, spacious, comfortable accommodation, all in a fabulous location!

The Cullen was a pleasant surprise! A friend and I stayed in a twin room for one night, as we were headed to a show at The Palais in St Kilda and wanted to be close by. The hotel has a trendy vibe with modern artwork, sculptures. and decor. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, providing advice on food, transport, shopping etc. The room was spacious and had two generous sized beds which were extremely comfortable. There was a couch, small dining table, chairs and another seating area. The room also had a small kitchenette which would be great for longer stays, especially as the local market is directly across the road with amazing fresh produce and delicacies. There was an opening window, which is always a bonus in my opinion, however it is a very busy and noisy road so if you are a light sleeper you would probably prefer this closer at night time. The bathroom was well appointed although a little see-through into the room as only partitioned by frosted glass. Parking was also onsite and reasonably priced. Finally, one of the best features is that it was one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in! I will definitely stay again 😊
