We booked a two-bedroom ocean view apartment and were very disappointed with the first unit we were given. The carpet was all ripped in the living room the furniture was very old and broken and the toilet in the ensuite had a broken lid. I asked the reception for a better room, and they were accommodating however the room was only marginally better. The second bedroom only had a ceiling fan, and you couldn't open the windows, so it was literally an oven!!! My son ended up sleeping in the lounge room for the 5-night stay. Again, the front desk team were apologetic, but these apartments should not be made available to book without giving the customer prior warning. before you book make sure you get a room on the lower level and that it is renovated.

If you booking a holiday for your kids, then the pools are the best here. We loved spending time out of our dirty room and in the pool. The rooms are very disappointing, we booked a 3 bed apt with our friends and their daughter. We had 8 people (4adults and 3 children, 1 toddler) our room had 2 x 2 seater couch one which was broken in the middle and two people couldn’t sit on it together. Beds were comfortable at the least. When I say a dirty room, the windows on the balcony is something iv never seen. Greasy and couldn’t look outside without it seeming likes it’s raining. Literally a 5min job for the cleaner to wipe them down. Bathrooms were also unclean, shower hadn’t had a decent clean in months. Hot water service would bang and clunk with the loud noise when using and shower head was deafening my toddler wouldn’t get in the shower as she was scared of the noise. Kitchen lacked everything, broken doors screwed in place. Carpet had stains everywhere which just made the apartment feel even more dirty. Overall if the hotel put more into these apartments they would get much better reviews.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Even though the weather wasn’t great the pools were a great temperate that even the outside ones were able to be used in the rain. I did want to try out the sauna and steam room but couldn’t seem to get it working. The pool kiosk was great fast and very reasonably priced. Was a Shame it was cash only we would have bought more some days but didn’t have money on us. There is a small play ground but my 4 and 6 year old didn’t play on it. I actually never saw anyone use it. Was very basic and not appealing. Loved having a car park available , I had read reviews that they were hard to find a spot but we never had an issue. Having a family of 5 the 2 bedroom apartment was great and having a kitchen and laundry was very helpful. Apartment was refurbished and clean. Only thing I thought that could have done with a good scrub was the balcony .. couldn’t walk out their in bare feet it was a bit gross. Staff were helpful when needed. Def recommend checking out the Thai restaurant attached to the hotel. It was some of the best Thai we have tried. And u get a discount for take away. It’s a shame there was no restaurants associated with Accor at this hotel as we are member and would have taken the opportunity to eat at them if there was. Location was perfect for us. We were originally booked in at turtle beach resort and changed last minute and we were glad we did. We could walk to beach and cavil Ave. tram stop was only a minute walk but we didn’t need to use it. All in all we had a great stay and would recommend to friends and family.

We have stayed at this Mantra hotel previously, and really enjoyed our stays with our families in the past, prompting us to book it for our 'minimoon' for a few nights after our wedding. It was actually the worst hotel stay I have ever had, and I have travelled extensively. We were given a room on the 5th floor, overlooking a construction zone. I am well aware that the construction is out of the control of the hotel, however we booked this stay 9 months ago, and the hotel were well aware of the special circumstances of our stay. I'm not one to look for any 'extras' ever, however, given what I stay was for, I thought some consideration would be given for a room choice, but apparently not. We were awoken each morning by around 6am with the workmen outside calling out to each other and moving vehicles and machinery around, and beginning the work at around 6:45am. No sleep ins were afforded us. We weren't on a holiday to get up early and go and do things, we were just married, and wanting to lay in bed, sleep in, recover from a crazy few weeks. Upon arrival, we literally slipped through the room door, as the tiles in the room, ALL of the tiles, were so slippery, we could literally skate on them with our shoes on. It was like whoever had mopped had used far too much cleaner and not rinsed it off. Either that or something was spilt on the floor and cleaned up very poorly. The air conditioning vent between the bedroom and bathroom was filthy, full of dust and cobwebs, and the air conditioner was on the whole time we were there, due to the humidity and the temperature. We woke up each morning with stuffy noses and clogged up in our heads, I can only assume due to the huge amount of dust circulating in the room. On the back of the sliding door heading from the bedroom to the bathroom, I thought it was full of mould. Upon closer inspection it was MORE dust, clinging to the door, that looked like it had been there for months. Uncleaned. The space around the taps on the bathroom sink hadn't been cleaned for goodness knows how long, there was grime build up around the taps and spout, that seemed unhygienic. I also found what appeared to be food, or used tissue/toilet paper under the hand soap dispenser. I did try to remove it, however pushed it further under as I couldn't get it out. The windows and sliding doors were disgusting, you could hardly see out the windows due to the grime. I understand there is construction out there that can cause some issues, but not the build up that was clearly evident on the windows and in the photos and videos I took of this. Out on that balcony, there was moss growing on it, and plants growing out of the drains and corners of it. The balcony also clearly had not been cleaned in some time. On the Tuesday night when we got back to the room, there were cockroaches (two of them) in the kitchen, one in the sink, and one on the kitchen bench near the sink. Gross. We had no food in the room up to that point, and only emptied our tub of food into the room bin on the Wednesday morning before we departed. There is a clear hole in the wall in the living room area near the lounge, a huge stain on an uncomfortable lounge, a broken bedhead, and black stains on the bed sheets as we pulled the sheets back on the Sunday night to go to bed. Added to a musty smell in the room for our entire stay, possibly due to being closed up for so long, because you can't open the doors due to the noise from the construction site. It was a really horrible stay, due to all these issues. Upon departing, the lady at the front counter asked how my stay was, and I was honest and told her it wasn't great, and she apologised and dismissed me by saying we should have complained during our stay. Yes, we probably should have, but we spent much of our time out and didn't get back to the room until after the front desk was closed. I have photos of all the issues, if you would like to see them.

We had a lovely big room with lots of space for a family, it had a washer and dryer which came in so handy. Even if you don’t have ocean views there are views on the river and mountains. The room is a little tired from its age, but everything works just fine. The pool facilities are great and well kept, we had lots of fun. The location is great we walked to the supermarket and shops. On site parking is handy and there are many restaurants which are fabulous very close by. There was no breakfast on site, there is one only 1 block away at a sister hotel (make sure you bring your voucher from crown towers for discount). Most of the time we made our own in the kitchen of the apartment. I would honestly stay here again.
