Mantra on the Esplanade Darwin

The location is fantastic, just across the road from the harbour park, so there are amazing views. Just two or three minutes’ walk to the shops with Coles and Woolworths about five minutes easy walk away. Very friendly, helpful staff at reception and a great pool. Spacious quiet rooms which were clean and well maintained. The kitchen and bathroom are OK, although could do with a bit of an upgrade. There is no housecleaning service (although staff were happy to provide new towels, remove garbage etc on request). But the significant negative was the temperature. There are no individual temperature controls in the rooms and the temperature on my first few days was arctic. While there are fan controls, even with these set at ‘off’, the air conditioning was still unpleasantly cold. So in summary, highly recommended if you bring a jumper (yes even in January!). And just a hint, there is no external Mantra signage. All signs say “Darwin Esplanade Central Apartment Hotel“ which is strange. However, the taxi drivers do seem to know it, however best to note the address just in case.

From check in to check out everything went smoothly. Rooms had all the facilities required and more. Location to bars and restaurants is ideal. expect I will stay here again when I travel to Darwin next

Location great, within walking distance of everything. 1 bedroom apartment was adequate enough, kitchen good. Room needs refreshing & modernizing. Bathroom needs a re-tile. Location makes up for the room.

Would definitely stay here again. Close to shops & restaurants within minutes. Scooter hire from out the front. Very enjoyable stay. Rooms were spacey with kitchen and balcony with ocean view. Great walking paths along the esplanade with a great kid’s playground and exercise equipment.

Outdated and small rooms, had a two bedroom reef facing room on the top floor. No way you could fit the number of guests they say, let alone on the small balcony. The pool is used by public as there is no swipe access to it and there’s no food services on site. Location excellent, but that’s as far as this outdated and overpriced hotel goes
