Hotel looked old but very clean and spacious. We stayed at the Standard Queen Twin Room, and the beds were large, every room sleeps 4. One of the room we booked had leaked aircon (Room 204), but other than that we have no complain. Staffs were very accomodating, room service satisfying. Parking available for free by the kerbside during weekend, and $5 per day at the back of the hotel.

We stayed at the Novotel Darwin for 7 nights between 26/10/22 and 2 /11/22. After booking and prior to traveling, we were very concerned with the negative reviews. We contacted Accor to ascertain the current status of the quality of service and facilities that were being offered. We were surprised to receive a personal call from the manager Mr Aniket admitting that the hotel had experienced issues during the peak of Covid, but also that the hotel service was now back to its high professional level. Mr Aniket guaranteed the quality of the facility and offered to re-locate us if we were not 100% satisfied. And we were 100% satisfied. Mr Aniket's staff were all professional, friendly, receptive and always helpful. We would have no hesitation in staying at the Darwin Novotel again. It is fabulously situated on the Esplande within walking distance of the best local bars, pubs and restaurants. It does need a bit of freshening up, but that appears to be in progress.

Stayed at the Novotel Darwin CBD for one night in transit as an ALL Silver. Room rate was pricey despite booking in advance apparently due to Jul being peak Darwin visitor season. Rooms were functional with some nice views. The alcoves in the rooms are a cool feature. Rooms at the hotel are inconsistent, with some floors having renovated bathrooms and others with old style faucets. Overall a functional stay which was marred by a front desk agent attempting to charge additional fees for checking out within an hour of the published check out time. This was exacerbated by poor communication from staff prior to the stay and no mention of this at check in. While the FDM eventually made things right after multiple escalation requests, it left a poor taste. This is not a 2* review only because restaurant staff were friendly and the coffees they made were really good. Would probably stay at the Doubletree down the road if returning to Darwin — the Accor properties in this city seem to be struggling, possibly in the tight post-COVID labour market.

We recently spent a week at Novotel Darwin and yes rooms can do with a refresh but we only have positive comments. Rooms were fine,comfy beds and cleaned daily by houskeeping.Breakfast was included and very good.Both hot and cold and suits all needs.The atruim was very welcoming and the best to come back to after a big day out.Bar area?Great to relax and prices are so cheap($7 for a glass of wine).Allan served us most of the time and even when kitchen was closed he managed to find us something to eat.Great Service by Allan and all staff behind reception desk.Location was fantastic and short walk around corner for bars or across road for esplanade.Some negative remarks say "musty smell" but when you have a 5 story atrium you do need to water it. Do yourself a favour and ignore negative remarks and judge yourself.We throughly enjoyed our stay

After a long day of travel, I expected to get to my room to be able to relax in peace and quiet. Not so. I was on the 1st floor immediately above the live show (singer) who woefully destroyed every song she sang. The tempo of every song was reduced to the same dreary rhythm and beat. She sounded like she was in agony a lot of the time....This went on until around 2030. The room felt dirty. The carpet certainly wasn't very clean and the dark brown colour little to affect any cheer in the room. The room is a designer's nightmare. The bed is closest to the door and the lounge is at the "window" end of the room. However, the window is the worst I have ever experienced. It's a corner of glass which doesn't afford any real outlook. It's a shocker! Even a view of the city at night would be ideal but nobody in their right mind would bother stepping 'into' the window alcove to peer out. The taps in the shower and bathroom are not marked clearly so I unfortunately got scalded with hot water. The lounge looks like it was a DIY kit purchased from a discount furniture store. It was repulsive so I didn't sit on it. Whilst the decor of the foyer and the accompanying internal atrium of the building might appeal to the majority: to me it looks more like the gardener took the last three months off work. The whole place appears overgrown. The lifts are small. The bed is a sponge...soft and unsupportive. I am most disappointed with the Novotel. I won't be back again.
