Bad start to the stay

We fly a fair bit from CNS to BNE and stay here regularly. As an Accor gold member it’s generally been great service here. Last long weekend we stayed here from Fri to Mon at room 2702. Thanks for the welcome pack and bottle of Rose. However, the bathroom was missing the lid over the drain to which we immediately notified reception. Nothing was done about it. On the Saturday we mentioned it again nothing was done again. On the Sunday we mentioned again as this time injured my little toe, ripped off the nail, and ended with a purple toe. This time we also asked the young fella to get the room serviced. We came back later room unserviced and lid still missing. Came down again and was lied saying there was no availability over weekends to service. Upon check out kudos to James for finally being the listener, acknowledging and apologising to us. Useless staff who are not able to think quickly or interested in doing their job properly should be removed immediately

Great view of the Brisbane river and close to shops and public transport. Not far to walk into the city centre and cafes

A great stay. The rooms were large enough and clean even though they were a little dated. We had a great view of the Brisbane river. A Woolworths supermarket is right next door so food can be cooked in the rooms kitchen. Just a short walk down Ann Street to Central station.

A big dead cockroach in my room. Not cleaned inspite if my repeated requests.

There was a dead cockroch in my room throughout my stay. In spite of my repeated requests to the person on the reception desk, it was not removed. Seriously, what kind of hygeine standards you have ? Does anyone clean the rooms properly? When I reported this issue, the reception desk person said that I need to wait until the next day to get it removed. Next day, the dead cockroach was still there. I am not staying in this hotel again.

The room I had was a one-bedroom apartment, that was a bit lightly furnished – basic 2-seater couch, TV, coffee table, and small square dining table. No separate work desk, which was an issue for a business trip. The online photos online look modern, but the furniture in my specific room wasn't as wonderful. No TV, or desk, or luggage rack, or spare chair in the bedroom – I dragged one in from the lounge room. Bathroom was very recently renovated and clean. Kitchen was clean and functional with microwave, oven, and a full-sized fridge. The location is not great for a business trip as it's on the north-eastern edge of the CBD – at least 10 mins walk to Central Station, or any decent restaurants, and another couple mins to Queen Street Mall. Their restaurant/cafe is currently closed for renovations, so it was hard to get a quick bite of breakfast before work, but there is a full-size Woolworths around the corner from the main driveway entrance, which solved the problem. The front desk service staff were great and very helpful – reception closes around 11pm, so remember your room key! My first night was booked for me at a corporate rate, so I didn't get to choose the hotel, and probably wouldn't have for a business trip based on the location and the standard rate I paid for the second night, although I was offered an upgrade to match for the first night, so kudos for that.

Single worst Accor site we have ever stayed in.

Good location but bad room experience. Checked in and relaxed for a few hours and when went for a shower we had no hot water. Called reception and was told they would get back to us. 10 mins later no callback so called them again and was told can not get hold of Manager of maintenance. Finally got a call back and was advised we could go down to level 7 from level 20 if we wanted a hot shower. Took a very quick cold shower. The single worst Accor site we have ever stayed in and would not recommend to anyone. Had a spa in the room that did not work just to top it off.

Thank you for your review of Mantra on Queen, however, unfortunately your experience was not up to the standard of our usual expectations and for this we sincerely apologise. Not only were there issues with the hot water supply, but our communication also let us down.
