Great location, stayed for 2 nights, room was spacious. When I arrived there wasn’t any signage on parking, so I parked directly at the hotel car park, then had to carry my suit case up flight of stairs. The receptionist was rude and it felt rushed nor did she bother to tell me about the internet login details which meant I was late to a teams meeting. Would I stay here again? Probably not, I think attitude of staff members should be addressed. The only staff who were efficient was probably the concierge.

Room wasn't ready at 2.30pm, manager somehow found another room, no welcome gift, not a bottle of water and ridiculously expensive

Ok there is no getting around it, this place is an absolute dump. Embarrassing that it is part of the Accor family. Stayed the one night, thankfully, and had the worst night sleep ever. All due to the fact that the elevator sounds like it is running inside your room. Have never heard such a noise each and every time the lift was operating. Add to that terrible WiFi, an old room and an even older bathroom with someone else’s dental floss behind the door…safe to say you don’t want to stay here. To top it off, the woman who fronted the restaurant for breakfast was incredibly rude and basically scolded me for not telling her I was an Accor Plus member before she printed off the bill. Ended up going elsewhere for breakfast. Plenty of better options in Brisbane. To think they charge over $300 a night to stay here is borderline criminal.

Never stay at Accor

Despite being 9 nights from Gold status, I will never stay at an Accor venue again. I paid $100 for 6pm late checkout. At 7am, the manager and an employee knocked on my door - I had accidentally triggered the smoke alarm by using my vape, with a $300 smoking fee. That's all good, my fault, but I don't like the way the manager handled the situation - the 3rd word out of his mouth was "police". I said, OK, I will be down soon to pay the fee. Before I got a chance to get to the lobby, the manager was back at my door evicting me. This was at 7am. The windows are bolted shut and cannot be opened. I was fully co-operative and packed up all my bags and went to the lobby. The staff were holding me hostage for a $300 smoking fee - which is ridiculous, as there is no smoke in a vape. The only by-product of a vape is steam. They were going to close the room for 24 hours to clean my vape steam using a... steam cleaner? The manager also insisted I never paid for a late checkout. We lost our wallet and the manager would not allow us to return to the room to retrieve it. Once we hit the NSW-QLD border, we got a call from the hotel saying the wallet had been found. But the manager insisted on charging $10 postage to return the wallet. Something that was entirely his fault, to a status member. I hope, for the sake of humanity, the customers, and the poor staff that work under him, that that manager loses his job and never works in the hospitality industry again.

This lovely hotel is minutes from the railway station and right beside King George Square; it has a restaurant and bar, a pool and a gym area, the rooms are spacious and clean, the staff are friendly and professional.
