If you feel like a swim there's no need to even pack a towel when you book a deluxe Port Douglas swim-out room. Simply walk out the door of your accommodation onto a sunny pool deck and relax on the sun lounge or slip straight into the water.

This hotel is in a great location, it’s a 2 minute walk to the Main Street which is full of bars, restaurants and shops. The room is a good size with a balcony that has a spa bath on it. I wouldn’t however describe it as 4 star as when we arrived at 8pm, reception was closed. There were instructions informing us we had to dial a number on the intercom which went unanswered. I then rang the number for the night porter which also went unanswered so rang number on intercom again. The lady gave us instructions on getting the key from the outside safe. The hallway looks quite dated and smells a bit musty (there was a leak in the ceiling which had a bucket beneath it, so that’s probably why). The swimming pool needs repainting on the floor. Our room was not cleaned in the 3 nights we stayed. There were 2 pods for the coffee machine with a note stating we could purchase more if we wanted them. There was no water in the room which I would expect, especially in a 4* establishment.

Excellent service and great location . Easy walking to everything. The 4 pools were great and clean as were the rooms. The apartment had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. Zero issues everything worked.

Had swim out hotel room on ground room. Very clean, new bathroom. Would have preferred small couch and more kitchen facilities but overall quite good

Amazing hotel/apartment. So obliging and helpful. Staff cannot do enough. Room is incredible. Kitchen/laundry perfect. A perfect place to stay with swim out pool from own patio.

After a very disappointing stay at another Mantra property (it was so bad I vowed never to stay at a Mantra property ever again) I hesitantly booked Mantra Aqueous. Why did I decide to book here? It was at a great rate and not only that it was one of very few properties that did not have a minimum night stay of 3-7 nights over the Christmas and New Year holiday period. After a long and very hot and sweaty December summers day at Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure we arrived to our pre aircon chilled rooms. It was the best feeling! It’s an older property but our rooms were clean and fresh. The bathrooms were mouldless - not an easy feat in the tropics! I have spent a lot of time in the area and familiar with most nearby hotels and what I wasn’t expecting with this one was an elevator. A pleasant surprise travelling with my 83 year old grandmother. If I had known how much I would’ve liked this property I would’ve squeezed another night or 2 into the Port Douglas portion of our trip. Thank you Mantra Aqueous for your pleasant hospitality and renewing my faith in the Mantra brand.
