Mantra Nelson Bay

We stayed here from 12/1 until 15/1. We were in Nelson Bay for a swimming carnival on 14/1. The premises were lovely, the pool very clean and well maintained. Any staff we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. Our 2 x bedrooms (one with an ensuite) were large and clean. The main bathroom was large. My only complaint would be the shower over the bath which I find very dangerous. Ceiling fans in the bedrooms and air conditioner in the living rooms kept us cool at all times. There was plenty of room for us. The towels were white and fresh and the sheets crisp and white. A full sized fridge, microwave. dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and well equipped kitchen made for a relaxing few days. We would definitely

Very enjoyable 4 day stay. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 king beds, ensuite off main, plus full size bathroom, full kitchen, and laundry facilities. Apartment was very spacious and overlooked the pool. Beds were comfortable and apartment very spacious. All staff we came in contact with were very friendly and helpful. Pool was great and lovely temperature. Great location (walking distance to Marina) Only downside was our secure parking was in a different building to our apartment which seemed a bit odd. We will definitely be back.

Positives Well organised parking Spacious apartments It is a real families with kids place. Negatives Decor needs attention. Whole place including hallways and woodwork needs a coat of paint. Grouting in floor tiles is grubby and discoloured same in the shower area. No plugs in any bathroom sink. All appliances and laundry equipment well used and some could do with being replaced. Cutlery was poor quality. (didnt use cooking utensils) Pool isn’t large and was so packed with families and kids we couldn’t use at any time during our visit. Electric plugs looked very old. Furniture in bedrooms chipped. TV in bedroom was tiny. Balcony area had not been cleaned and whole area was dusty and chairs covered with bird poo. Behind the door in bathroom was dusty and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. Bathroom cabinets were dirty and needed a good clean and toilet brushes needed replacing. Also No safe which we didn’t realise when booking. No towel replacements daily again we hadn’t realised this. Overall this did not meet our expectations. Perhaps more suitable for families with kids.

We were 4 senior ladies getting together for our yearly get together. We had a very large 3-bedroom unit on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool which was very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and having 2 bathrooms very handy as well as a covered car park under the units certainly a bonus. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Was an easy walk to shops and Restaurant's. Would certainly recommend staying here.

I usually stay at Anchorage but just saw there is a Mantra in Nelson Bay. What a great find. I had a 2 bedroom poolview room. I loved it. Comfortable beds, quiet, spacious unit. It was perfect. Parking was easy in an undercover car park with lift access. Pool area gorgeous . There is also a barbeque area next to the pool. Location is a 5 minute walk into town. There is even a kids fountain area. Reception staff are lovely
