POOR MANAGEMENT

‘Sir, that will be $6 for the extra toilet paper and the clean towels; if you would prefer to wash them we have some detergent.” Management to me after 8 days here, in the same room with no room cleaning. And after forking $4k plus for the experience. Need a holiday? Go somewhere else. The local staff here are fabulous but Accor Hotels will be out of business soon with pisspoor customer service. Rumour is ACCOR has the resort on the market. Be great if the licensee of the restaurant and bar bought this place; then you could actually buy an alcoholic drink and take it to your room. I feel like I’m staying in a shady hotel in East Germany prior to the wall coming down. After$4k and this experience my recommendation is for OPAL COVE or PACIFIC BAY RESORT if you want to be treated as a “PAYING GUEST” not a slave with $4k and reasonable expectations for a kickarse retreat and rejuvenation

Please be aware you are expected to have a car to enable you to drive from reception to your room. We did not. To get to our room the reception staff expected us to walk out of the hotel grounds, along 2 roads which did not ha a foot path . Thankfully the family member who had picked us up from the airport was able to drive us to our room. ( 121A). The day before leaving we asked at reception if they could book us a taxi to collect us from our room to bring us to reception to check out and then to the airport. We were told this was not possible. That 1 of us had to walk to reception on the morning of departure and they would contact a taxi to take us back to our room , collect our luggage and take us back to our room, and go back to reception to check out. The road side walk from out room to reception is up hill. Thankfully when we told our family they were able to get someone to come and collect us. The room we had only had 1 bedside light. There was no light switch by the bed. There was no rail on the wall to hold onto to get in and out of the bath to use the shower. There was no rubber mat in the bath The tiles around the toilet had a reddish brown stains on them . The cords for the blinds were black with dirt. The door was very difficult to lock with the key provided. We stayed 2 nights and our room was not cleaned during the stay. Due to the response we received on arrival and when discussing booking a taxi we realized it would be a waste of our time to bring these points up with reception. To walk from our room to reception through the grounds you need a torch. The walk way is not fully lit. You have to go over a bridge which has a locked gate. There is no lighting at the gate to enable you to see where the key needs to go. The signs to reception are not at every junction and none of the signs in the grounds are lit. We felt unsafe walking a round in the dark.

Do no stay in unit 61

The two bedrooms apartment unit 61 is quite large. It has disabled facilities. We didn’t request it but was given without warning. The main bathroom smells very serious urine smell. When we first walked into it, we thought it was some kind of chemicals due to the room just being cleaned…. We drove a long time to get there, we were so tired that we couldn’t be bothered to check out more thinking the smell would be eventually gone. But no, the smell getting worse and you could not breathe in the bathroom… it’s not the first time we used Breakfree Resort, but we never had such bad experiences. We explained to the staff at the reception before we checked out, but it seemed they didn’t really care. So we like to warn our fellow travellers that beware of this property. Do not stay in unit 61 unless you have to.

The rooms and surroundings away from the main public areas (Reception, Cafe and Beach House) are rather dark amidst too much greenery. But we loved being able to enjoy the private beach and pool facilities after check out. Great vibes in bar

Expérience affreuse : chambre minuscule / wifi inexistant / piscine mal entretenue et pas de linge (je constate que les gens ont leur propre linge !!!)/ restaurant fermé ! Bref nous repartons plus tôt que prévu et tant pis pour la réservation déjà payée !
